Anime Update

KAMUI SHOTEN: Heya people, long time no see. Back on the Internet with an intermediate spending time. I've come to update you all with a fully anime update just because I'm so bored .
DRAGON BALL Z, LIVE-ACTION UPDATE
According to a source linked to 20th Century Fox, the following was said:
FOX is shooting for a PG-13 rating and a running time of somewhere between 3 to 4 hours. They are hoping for the DBZ movie saga to be 4 episodes long (4 movies). Starting in The Saiyan Saga, The Freiza Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga.
George Lucas' CGI company ILM has signed a contract to do the special effects. Some sad news, due to casting and scheduling difficulties, filming that was set to begin real soon has been put off until Summer 2004. The original Release Date. Once the movie is finished filming and all post-production effects are added in, this movie may not be out until well into 2005.
As of right now there is no definite title. The most obvious choice would be plain "DragonBall Z", but FOX is also leaning toward "DragonBall Z: Unlimited" or "DragonBall Z: Fight For Man Kind."
DRAGON BALL Z, LIVE-ACTION UPDATE
KAMUI SHOTEN: That's the biggest peice of news I've heard in a while, during my short time I could find nothing more on the Kite, Akira, Ninja Scroll, or Luppin III live-actions. But I'll keep looking. Meanwhile, there are other meaningless updates below that people already probably know about:
----------------------
ADV Films announced on the 17th of this month that they've licensed anime, Happy Lesson (both the OAV Series, and the TV Series), as well as Nuku Nuku TV, and the Japanese live-action film, Gun Crazy.
Pioneer Entertainment has licensed the English version of "Someday's Dreamers", also titled as "魔法遣いに大切なこと", "Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto", and "Things That Are Important to Magic Users". There has been no word on who the voice actors are, nor the English staff that will be working on it as of yet.
TNN, formerly "The Nashville Network," and "The New TNN," will be undergoing a face and name change to "Spike TV." Aimed directly at adult men (18-35), Spike TV will feature an adult animation block called "The Strip." While The Strip won't carry any Anime immediately, it is expected to contribute to a marketplace more open to adult oriented animation and Anime. Spike TV will launch on June 16th (Kamui Shoten's birthday, heh, how shocking is that?).
PIONEER ENTERTAINMENT'S SPECULATIVE LICENSES
Certain North American anime companies, Pioneer and Bandai in particular, are subsidiaries of Japanese companies that produce or own other subsidiaries that produce anime. These North American companies obviously share a close relationship with their Japanese parents and are more likely to license their titles.
A look at Pioneer LDC's 2002 Title list shows that the majority of the titles that were licensed were licensed by Pioneer Entertainment. The notable exceptions are Strange Dawn (Urban Vision), Now and Then, Here and There (Central Park Media) and Gokudo (Media Blasters).
Taking a look at PLDC's current titles, Chobits, L/R, Mahoromatic 2, and Haibane Renmei are the only titles to have been licensed to date--all by Pioneer. Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magikarute hasn't been licensed yet, but as a spin-off of Pioneer's Soul Taker, it's a virtual shoe-in.
So, while it's just speculation, chances are good that many of the remaining unlicensed titles in PLDC's list (current & 2002) will be picked up by Pioneer Entertainment in the near future.
PIONEER ENTERTAINMENT'S SPECULATIVE LICENSES
KENSHIN KYOTO'S ARC - STARTING IN JUNE!
After re-airing the Oniwaban Group story arc (episodes 8 through 11) from May 27th to the 30th. Cartoon Network will begin airing the Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Arc on Monday June 9th, starting with the first episode, "The Strongest Opponent From the Past: Merciless Fangs Strike."
A complete change of pace from the earlier parts of the show, the Kyoto Arc is significantly more violent and considered by many fans to be the best part of Kenshin. As the Kyoto Arc is more violent than the rest of the series, heavier editing should be expected.
In the Kyoto Arc, Kenshin returns to Kyoto and faces a former member of the Shinsengumi and his own bloody history. The popularity of the Kyoto Arc is often seen as the inspiration and reasoning behind the production of the Kenshin OVAs.

KAMUI SHOTEN: If you've read this much I commend you. Check back in, like, a month or so when I get bored again , I'll give you guys and gals (quickly looks side to side for femanists) another dose of Kamui's Block.
