Subsistence!!

Around 11am today I picked up my pre-order for MGS3: Subsistence. Over the last 15 hours, about 12 have been spent playing this amazing game. Snake Eater plays extremely well with the new camera, the duel and cinema modes are quite amusing, and the retro Metal Gears are pretty bitchin'. But all of those pale in comparison to the online mode. I played that for about 5 hours strait, and then another 2 hours later. It's a bit limiting (only 5 base modes), but it's a lot of fun. I even bought a headset just for this game.
Mecha, I know you've got it pre-ordered, so I hope you've got an online adapter. If you do, we're going to need to hook up on it.
And since I had my camera out anyway, here's a pic of the game case with a little proof it's mine!

I'd like to pick up Subsistence. I think the coolest part is that it has the original MSX2 versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (never before release in the US).

I think I'll stick with the original release. As much as the first and second Metal Gear games (for the NES) attract me, I had gotten the ROMs years ago (don't have them since I found out they were being rereleased), but I've had my fill.
Viva la Snake!

Zephie, you are mistaken. The versions of Metal Gear available on Subsistence are not the NES versions. They are the MSX2 versions. The MSX is a old Japanese PC that Konami made games for. So actually, the NES version of Metal Gear is not the true version of Metal Gear. Infact the last boss of the NES version is totally different. Also, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake has never been release before in the US. Kojima had nothing to do with the NES title Metal Gear: Snake's Revenge.

Metal Gear 1 and 2 have actually been ported from cell phone versions in Japan, so they've even been improved over the original MSX versions.
Yeah, the NES version was, in Kojima's own words, "absolute garbage". The last boss was a computer, and if you'd played any of the game or heard anything about it you'd feel Kojima's pain. Then there's the whole business with "Snake's Revenge". Ugh.

I gotta figure out how to put my PS2 online wirelessly.
Any input?

I don't know. Are wireless adapters compatible with the PS2?

Hmm... well I'm not so sure it's possible to set up PS2 online wirelessly directly. I do, however, know a method that would probably work if you have a nearby computer set up with a wireless connection, and a spare ethernet port. Set up network address translation (Internet Connection Sharing or some shit on Windows), which is pretty simple to do. Then get a crossover ethernet cable, and hook your PS2 up to your computer's ethernet port. That should work. Maybe there's a simpler method, but I doubt it.

I took a few screenshots of Subsistence if anyone's interested. They would be high quality 640x480 stuff, but photobucket decided to resize them to 320x240. But anyway, you can still get the idea.
