The Matrix Seen

Post by loosecannon »

I just got back from the Advanced showing of the matrix reloaded. I am at a loss for words, and not because it was a bad movie, it was quite good, but like the first in the series, you just don't know what to think...

*SPOILERS ALERT*
I thought the first half of the movie was kind of lame, especially the part in Zion where everyone was dancing to the tribal beat. The second half is where everything starts to kick in and kick ass. Plot development was slow durring the first half and in the second I was suddenly dumped with a ton of info. Especially the scene with the Architecht. Can anyone explain that scene to me? By the way, did anyone stay after the credits and see the trailer for Matrix Revolutions? Ohhh man, I can't wait.
Hell hath no fury for a woman's scorn for Sega.

Im seeing this movie in about 4 hours...

The NYTime* compaired the First half to a "political thriller".. and the second half to a non-stop action ride killer bee infested fun fest of fun that doesnt stop.. Well, that description of the second half isn't an exact quote.

*I think it was the times that said it, might have been Wired Magazine. I can find out if anybody cares enough.

The architect part was difficult to take... Those who do not want to hear or let the movie be ruined stop reading NOW!!!!!

The architect explains that the anonmaly which is the "the one" is nothing but a flaw in the system. It is merely a cycle that has been repeated for five times now. We learn that the matrix is much older than we once knew. The two doors are: The one to neo's right.....zion is destroyed, but neo can save the human race by taking 23 others i think it was 17 guys and 6 girls to start over, rebuild zion...make babies....the other door was to save trinity, zion destroyed and no chance for human race to survive. Neo has hope though, that he can make it different, maybe he can change the system. Neo goes through the door to save trinity, we learn that zion was destroyed....except for one survivor and please tell me you caught that.........

I dont think Zion was destroyed yet, I think it was actually a battle above Zion (between some ships and some squidies) and there was only one surviver from that. The machines havent yet made it to zion.

The part I dont get is, why dont they just make some EMP bombs or EMP mines.. it is obvious they have the technology to make such a device, and it would pretty much fuck the machines over..

Also, I was reading the slashdot messageboards, the newest theory going around is that when somebody escapes the Matrix, they aren't really escaping to the real world, they are just moving to another level of the Matrix. Sounds pretty interesting to me and makes sense I suppose. Atleast, it is an explaination to how Agent Smith copied himself to the 'real world' and how Neo stopped the Squidies.

no spoilers..

I am not sure what to think of it..

I wish it was as intellectually stimulating as the first one.
The moive brought up some cool ideas and concepts that I wish they would have gone into further..Such as the idea of the "rogue programs"..Interesting stuff there..Too much time spent on trying to develope a pointless love story and a love triangle..(love story stuff not talking about neo/trinity thing.)

On a side note...
I rented the game...definitely worth renting but not sure if I would buy it.
It is great and progesses the story ...but what about replay.
The Focus ability is sweet...Love kickin A$$matrix style.
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, select, start

Spoilers

Well, let's look at the ability of Smith to copy himself to a human body. This is not all strange, because the human mind is made up of electric signals. I am sure that throughout time the matrix has been able to assimilate these signal, hence agents can take over any being in the matrix. Instead of the human signal being transferred to the human brain, the signal of a copied Agent Smith was sent back. Therefore, it appears that any program of the Matrix has the ability to exit the matrix in the mind of a human host, but the extraction process was never available to them until that specific point.
