Check out the new Teaser. It looks BODACIOUS!
I'm still scared that Ratner is director, but I'm sure it'll at the very least be entertaining. I wish Singer could've done it, but Superman Returns looks so awesome, so it's ok.
Anyways, I can't wait for this, King Kong and the new Pirates of the Caribbean looks awesome too.

Everyone kept freaking out about Ratner before actually seeing his product. Which is understandable given his previous work, however I do think we will be pleasantly surprised. With all the talk of conspiracy on various boards as the undertow in the river of the X-Men film franchise over at Fox, it does seem slightly curious to me that they would let one of their more lucrative properties be pulled under. It will be different, to be sure, but I do think it will be an enjoyable film. If I had to pick something that would most closely represent what I think the new style will be, I think that the cartoon is what Ratner might have studied the most. In any case, I am looking forward to May.
Juggy's got his helmet. In one flashing scene in the trailer, it shows him coming out of some sort of closet (ha! always knew he was compensating for something) with a grey helmet on. I'm not sure I dig the whole grey armor thing... After all, the Cyttorrak Ruby was a ruby... But in either case, Angel had me drooling. And not because he was shirtless. Fags.
thanks Q, i remembered that he was being played by a soccer player and only caught a glimpse with him w/o the helmet. I only wish they would have put Gambit in.RurouniQ wrote:Juggy's got his helmet. excuse said that his
attitude was too close to Wolverine(loner - not true)
and
powers were too close to Cyclops(which IS true, as Gambit is technically a clone of Cyclops.)

New trailer...
Some parts looks kind of dumb, some parts looks totally awesome.

Okay, so I’m a loser – my girl friend stands me up, so I go to the cinema alone (stand behind cute boys in line – make a point of sitting with said cute boys ^_^). Anyway, I was a bit disappointed. First off, I actually agree with Jay in that I wanted Gambit *sobs* I mean, I’ve been in love with the dude since I was 14, so I have a right to be upset. And not wanting to spoil it for anyone, but since Cyclops was barely even in the film anyway…
Wolverine was gorgeous and wonderful as always ^_^ and there was a moment when I figured that the little kid sitting the other side of me really wasn’t old enough to be watching.
My bitching is all to do with the fact that it had a lot more potential than it lived up to - I really wanted to see things come down to the wire in a war between humans and mutants. It spent a lot of time setting things up, and then the last half-hour felt rushed.

X3 bore only a PASSING resemblence to the comics. They made some really strange and pointless choices with the story.
And come on, when is Rogue gonna' suck the powers outta' Ms. Marvel? If there's another X-men movie I want Rogue FLYING, dammit!

Yeah, Rogue got "cured", but we can assume from the very end of the movie (Magneto with teh chess piece) that the cure is either incomplete or temporary, so its still possible.

Listen to the latest Gameshow for my rantings about X3. They are many, but in the end I still found the film somewhat enjoyable.
SPOILERS
About Rogue, I'm was incredibly dissapointed because in a way they were saying "hey, it's ok to get the sure and not be a mutant anymore."
Aww come on, X3 was a good movie.. just not true to the comics.
That's not the point. At least, that's not the point for me.
X1 and X2 were very losely based off of stuff from the comics, they didn't stay faithful to alot of things. I didn't mind it though because X1 and X2 were well made and if they made changes, for the most part, it was explained.
So, X3 was not true to the comics, but neither was X1, X2, or even Spiderman 1 and 2. But I enjoy all of those movies. I didn't enjoy X3 nearly as much as any of those movies because of reasons not relating to it being "true" to the comics.

I didn't enjoy X3 as much as 2 or 1, but in terms of how it was filmed it was filmed well. I was talking about this with a USC film student yesterday. Not as good as 1 and 2, but well done.
In terms of story it wasn't as strong as it could have been... killing off the characters and other such things.. I will agree with you there.
I'm not saying X3 was great or anything. It was good, but not great. I cringed in some parts too.. but I do not think its as bad as I've heard several people (outside of these forums) say. It definitely wasn't aimed at X-Men fans.. which is sad.
