I enjoy a cigar every once in awhile, but that's it.

I dabbled in cigarettes a bit, quit that shit. I could feel its effect on my physical performance. Cigars are good shit though, love 'em, but I indulge rarely.

Being an addict is very different from being a connoisseur. Tobacco is a very enjoyable hobby, and people who enjoy good cigars are much like people who enjoy fine wine. Saying that people who like good wine are unhealthy just like some hobo with a 40 is stupid - as is saying a good cigar is akin to a cheap pack of Reds. Anything in excess is bad, but in moderation can be good. Tobacco has some very good qualities as well, especially cigars (which you typically don't inhale, kids) - it can be very relaxing, and honestly the taste is pleasent once you're used to it. Like a quality liquor, you learn to drink it not to get drunk or because you're at a party, you simply enjoy good alcohol for the taste. Cigars, pipe tobacco, and some cigarettes are simply things to be enjoyed with a full glass of Guinnes and a piece of apple pie - quality living.

Amen to Realm - moderation is a good thing. And yeah, cigars are not to be inhaled, just tasted. You do have cottonmouth the first couple times, but it gets to be an acquired taste.

In fact, I think I'll go buy a pack now...

I've never tried smoking but have no desire to for many reasons.

I've tried various alcoholic drinks since I turned 21 but found that none of them couldn't have been improved in taste by the removal of alcohol from the mix.

I know the latter half of my answer wasn't part of the question, I just felt chatty.

Tell you the worst kind of non-smoker's the kind where you're smokin' and they just walk up to you... (starts coughing affectedly) I always say 'Shit, you're lucky you don't smoke. Thats's some cough you got there dude. I'm smoking you're coughing, wow.' Thats kind of cruel man, going up to a smoker and coughing. Shit! Do you go up to crippled people dancing too, you fucks? 'Hey Mr. Wheelchair, whats your problem? Come on ironside, race ya!
