Ive ventured into the world of PC gaming recently, trying to re-kindle a lost passion. Ive gotten Raven Shield, great game, but no multiplayer. Theres a problem with ubi's servers where there are too many servers and the program cant handle it at all. Your supposed to add -norunaway to the ravenshield.exe (ravenshield.exe"-norunaway) but it doesnt work, so im stuck until ubi gets their ass together and fixes it. I also purchases Battlefield 1942 which plain doesnt work at all. The cursor becomes non-responsive as soon as the game loads, even with the patch nothing happens. I tried disabling my audigy from advice on a forum but its a no go, i know i have enough memory. I guess im just fustrated, wanting to play the games while i have time to do so. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Its part of pc gaming I guess, getting them to work. If you have all the latest drivers and patches, its hard to tell you what to do. Oddly enough, an uninstall followed by an install with patches has worked for me in the past. If not, its possible that it is defective hardware (although extrememly unlikely.) Just keep messing with it, or call your video card tech support. I've always found that they have the best tech support. At least in my experience. If not them, send Creative an email. Creative's driver's are among the worst, so the problem may very well lie there.

Well, soon after I made the first post, I got multiplayer Raven Shield to work. And boy does it work. It is by far the best online gaming Ive ever played. Extremely fun. As for battlefield, EA is emailing me back so we will see where I go from there. Thanks for the advice though, I will try what I can.

I'd have to say, for me, best online gaming is either PSO for GCN, or most of the Xbox live titles. Xbox live's servers, built in voice chat, and game-specialized servers seem to keep lag at a minumum and at least hinder cheating.

i can't say i'm a comp gamer. I only own like 3 games and they are sims like shogun and civ. Frankly I don't like comp games. They are hard to play and its harder to play with friends. Also the games don't always work right.

Yeah, when you can get everything to work they're mighty damn fun. I enjoy a lot of the online games because I get a chance to meet new people and the best part is that when they're a jackass, you can kick their ass and really say they're a donkey! Hehe.

Thats a good point, you can take some aggression out on some assholes that won't shut up. But most of the time, the people online seem to be of good character.

Yeah, that innocence will fade. For some reason, I seemed to get lamerless games for a long time. Now, it seems like someone has sprinkled lamers from on high down to every game I play. I hope your experience is better.

Ya, at least EA got their tech support right. Glad you got Battlefield working, its about the only thing I play. That and Zelda :). Just make sure you have the latest patch (1.31), otherwise you'll have more problems (not to mention no online play).

What name do you play under? Just in case I happen to join the same server.
