XBox 360 on MTV

That thing made me want to stop playing games, seriously. After watching that I was almost depressed. I feel so bad for Elijah. Although, I tried to not let the trendyness affect me because disliking something based on trendyness is even worse than being trendy just for being trendy. Like the goth kids on South Park... hehe
The games I saw had some framerate issues (Richie saw this too,) and the small amount of footage they actually showed of Xbox 360 didn't excite me in any way shape or form. As of right now, I have no interest in the Xbox 360. When they compared Xbox customization to Pimp my Ride I almost cried. Interestingly enough... every thing I said about Xbox and the MTV crowd (that I argued with Jack about) was confirmed tonight.
Now, this could change next week with E3. That thing was obviously aimed at sorority girls and the TRL watchers... but Jesus... that was so hard to watch. I just wanted to hug Elijah. I hope and pray that the Xbox 360 is better than I think right now.
This thing really makes me excited for Ps3 and Revolution...
Again I say.... PLEASE God let the Xbox 360 be better than this showing. I want ALL the systems being worth buying. Was weird seeing Sway go where I went a few years ago at MS...

As a hardcore gamer, I was very unimpressed with the presentation. Does that mean the 360 is bad? Of course not.
But that doesn't change the fact that I could've actually learned more about the 360 with a quick Google search. I don't want to see Pimp My Ride, or a Linkin Park member, I want to see what your console can do. And I certainly don't want The Killers being used as bait to keep me watching. The root intent of the show was spelled out when they pulled that.
I did see frame rate problems with PD:Z, but I can't really draw much from that, seeing that we're talking about beta hardware and beta software. I'll wait 'till I get my own hands on it before creating really opinions on the games.
But hey, we're talking about MTV, and we knew what the intent was. Hopefully I get to see more at E3.
P.S. Ghost Recon looked AWESOME.

10 seconds of gameplay footage, 20 minutes of Pimp my Xbox.

That made me want to cry, or break something, which ever happened first. That show was a complete joke, and I love how when they were showing footage, iwould only be there for a second, and then someone's stupid face close-up would appear. Unvail the system, not celeb's faces.
Even with that abomination of a sshow I'm still rather excited about the XBox 360. I know the system can't suck that bad. With Microsoft's surprising quality for their first system despite its hugeness, I think the new system should turn out fine. I'll definitely be reserving judgement till E3, and I've seen more promising things on the net so far.

This is a screenshot from Perfect Dark Zero. For something that's supposed to be "next generation" graphics wise, I am unimpressed.
Anyways, why would I be impressed? It has to do with X-Box.
Apparently though, it might be an early version.

This is a video for Gears of War, another Xbox 360 title

I am impressed.
Not to mention the Ghost Recon 3 footage, the Kameo footage, NBA2K6 footage, The Darkness (from the Riddick guys!), NFS: Most Wanted (actually looks good), I think there's a lot there to really be salivating for.
Yes, the MTV show was pure crap, but the games, the system, and Xbox Live should be pretty damn nice.

Umm...what? Did you not expect this? It has absolutely NO bearing on the quality with which the 360 will debut. This was the quick, glitzy infomercial for the MTV-watching public - the casual or NON gamer.
Our festival is next week.

As far as the framerate problems go, you realize that all of those games were developed and being played on hardware that wasn't even finalized. Not to mention the games are still nearly 6 months away from release. Those are all in the alpha state I'd presume, and if that's the alpha, I can't wait until the finished states of all of them.

No, I thought they were finalized and everything is waiting for me at EB, Best Buy, and Target right now... Oh shit... I was wrong...
Umm... yes, I expected it, but it was worse than I expected. It's not like MS was an innocent party that was raped. They had a hand in this too. Keep in mind this is the first showing, impression if you will, that Microsoft wanted to make with this console. A statement. My distaste has very little to do with the mainstreamness of it, btw.
I am glad that you agree this was for the NON-gamer. I was arguing with someone about that last night.
I was so excited for last generation, and I don't feel that this generation. Like I said... this could all change with E3. Which is what really matters. This was simply my reaction to the first thing Microsoft wanted us to see regarding the 360. I think I'm going to continue calling it Xenon... That was before the MTV days.

Indeed. It wouldve have been ALOT better if it had been on TechTV. If it WERE on TechTV I would have expected GhZ and RAM and processors and all that information, and even some release dates and info about how XBL will be. I kind of expect it just to be clips with celebs from MTV though :/
From what someone said some time ago...the next gen consoles will be more about rennovation than anything...and while rennovation is a good thing and all I still want the next gen system to have a significant amount of greater power than the current gen. As in running HL2 at 100% high settings (Why is Hl2 used alot for graphcis references? lol) and having the loading times decreased. I know that Waste Land game will be one giant skatepark with no loading and that sounds very interesting and with XBL its gonna be awsome.
So eh...who else thinks that Halo 3 will come out shortly after the release of Xbox 360? Lets just hope it isn't overhyped like H2 was.

I don't know how many have seen this:

Now that looks fairly promising. It's really moving away from gaming and to all around entertainment. Not that that's a bad thing.

Halo 3 will most likely release along side the PS3 (to combat sales). Unless the rumors of a March 06 PS3 release are true.

That link BreakmanX gave just leads to a site with an ant a bubble that has green and yellow lines that expand outward if you put your mouse over it.

Look how long it took them to make Halo 2. ANd that wasnt' done all that long ago. I'd be skeptical as to wether or not they could make halo 3 fast enuff for either launch. It COULD be done....but their track record suggests, we'd hear about it over a year in advance, and they'd start telling us about all these interesting things what were going to be in it, that just dissapear when it actually comes out. Things like ATVs, combos and endings.
