Favorite Old School Developer

I don't mean developers that aren't here today, I mean the best developer from the past.

I'd say Rareware. They made Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, and so much more.

I like Rare's older stuff better: Wizards and Warriors, Anticipation, Battletoads, Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instict and etc.

My favorite developer from the past besides Nintendo is probably Treasure. My favorite of their older titles include Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy, Alien Soldier, Sihouette Mirage, Sin and Punishment, and Mischief Makers.

I'm a born and raised Squaresoft man. I suppose Squeenix now...

Dragon Warrior is a godsend. Final Fantasy II (4 in Japan) is the best game ever made...I'm playing through Chrono Trigger right now because it rocks.

Squeenix FTW

I gotta go with old-skool Konami.

How can you go wrong with Jackal, Metal Gear, Rush 'N Attack, Goonies II, Castlevania, TMNT, and Contra?

Old-skool Capcom was really good, too. Commando, Trojan, and Megaman.

Actually, technically, some of those Konami titles were published under Ultra.

Also, the teams that worked on Contra and Castlevania supposedly eventually became Treasure.

Don't forget Tecmo and titles like Ninja Gaiden, Rygar, and Tecmo Bowl.

They just don't make 'em like they used to.

True that, weezer. I'd have to say Capcom... with MegaMan: All the way! I can still taste the excitement of playing my first MegaMan game, MegaMan 3, for the forever cool Nintendo. Gives me goosebumps.

Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden's as well. Those were kick ass. Painfully annoying for me, but kick ass nonetheless.

Konami, Tecmo, Nintendo, and Capcom are probobly my favorite. This is including the various off shoots. Nintendo had some really backwards thinking (money raping) ideas about licensing at this time, and so companies like Konami had to figure out ways to make more games and not get destroyed financially by the other huge behemoth corporation. Ultra was birthed in this operation.

Hmmm...who developed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games?

The new one, or the good ones from the 80's and early 90's?

Konami made the new ones and the old ones, BUT the old ones were developed by the Treasure people.

Konami all the way ^_^

Back in the SNES days, if you could only get a few games a year, you knew that if you went for a Konami title your money wouldn't be wasted. It was as if they couldn't make a bad game.
