What is your favorite Dreamcast game?

Mine would have to be Ikaruga. Or Soul Calibur... or Sonic Adventure 1. Hey, its a tough choice!

Go out and get one now!! They are like $30 or less. And there are some great games on it. I guess a lot of them are coming to the Cube... But, if you see it for cheap, its worth it. Its more powerful than the Ps2, anyway.

Or grab a Dreamcast Emulator. You can probably still rent *cough* copy *cough* the games from most video rental places.

And, while I dont support emulation of current systems, this is a good way to explore dead systems. Lets you play the games you missed. And since the company killed the system, it shouldn't have a bad effect on the gaming industry.

Best Game....

I would have to say Soul Calibur. If you guys have noticed, it recieved a perfect "10" on gamespot. If you havent played it, its worth the 40 bucks(which includes the Dreamcast-im assuming you dont have one because if you dont havea DC and no Soul Calibur then you are on crack- and the game itself. It is just a beautifully artistic and creative game that goes beyond the fighting. Each level presents a new difficulty, whether it is strong winds to blow you off a mountain, or rats that bite your feet. Oh by the way, break informed me that the DC is water-cooled. WOW, now thats a sweet ass system.

I'm no Dreamcast expert, but I don't think the standard system was ever water-cooled.. Atleast it doesn't look it from the outside, and I've never read anything online about it. A google search turned up nothing either. Maybe Break has some type of 1337 modded water-cooled Dreamcast. I've read about people using the DC as a linux web-server, amoung other things, but never heard about Water cooling.

Also, about the Dreamcast Emu, currently there are no working Emus avalible for the system, so that idea is out. Also, the DC uses a Proprietary Disc system, so your PC may not be able to read all game discs.

On Amazon you can pick up a used system for $44 USD, and a memory card will set you back another $30 :(
Also, some clever people have made SNES, PS1, etc.. emulators for the Dreamcast. So that add more value to the system.

At EB you can get a refurbished DC for $30, and Babbages has new VMUs for $10. Can't beat that with a ten-foot pole.

They didn't really talk about it much, but it is water cooled. I've got some hardware analysis shots from NextGeneration and EGM that show it. When I get my digital cam I'll post some shots. I can see where you wouldn't find this stuff on the net, though. I don't think many people know. But, anyway, I'll get some pics up when I get my cam. Leave it to SEGA to water cool their system =)

Ru, GG for finding better prices. You might be able to pick up a bundle of second hand console and games for cheap from Ebay or something too.

Break, I found some sites that had the specs for the system, like ram, CPU type, etc.. but none mentioned anything about cooling. That certainly doesn't mean that its not there though. I await the pictures with a great deal of interest.

Ive got better prices.

I bought a VMU and Tokyo Xtreme Racer and an extra contoller for the grand total of $8.40 at my local, well 70 miles, EB in the Wichita mall. VMU was like 1.50, controller was 3 and game was 3 something. I can bet that these deals are in more than one place. Most stores are probably just trying to get rid of what they have, since they falsely believe that there is no market for DC items.

I dont have my digital cam yet, and won't have it till the 24th or later (my birthday.) I did find a shot of the water cooling unit.

Its #5. The magazine I have actually says the words "water cooling." But, this will work till then.

Ha, told you. Break is always someone to count on with factual proof. This picture clearly shows the water cooling unit. As I stated before..WHAT A SWEET ASS SYSTEM!! Well, it is rather noisy, but I can look past it. By the way, do the last 5 post or so technically belong in the Favorite Game category?
