Yes, I have played the gamecube version of Soul Calibur 2, worship me. It is as good as we imagined it would be. The graphics are incredible, the controls respond well. The only problem I had with it is that the controller is set by default to something that is very different from the Dreamcast version, so I had trouble getting used to the controls. That problem is easily remedied by remapping the buttons, which I didn't do because it wasn't my game.
And of course, then there is Link. I went into it thinking "Link? It'll just be a re-hash of Smash Bros' Link. Whoop-dee-doo." I picked up the controller, selected Link, and had a blast. Yes, a lot of Link's moves are copies of Smash Bros, but the way those moves interact with the other characters make all of Link's moves fresh and new. Plus, add on top of that Link's Horse-Riding-Throw (which is Link's most bad-ass move) and Link is cooler than anyone thought he would be.
My verdict: Soul Calibur 2 is worth the extra money to import. Get it now and love it.
