This article explains how the DS launch in Japan was dissapionting.
Anoop Gantayat of IGN wrote:We'd describe the Japanese DS launch as boring. Then again, we presume we'll look back upon it fondly next week when we're fighting off crowds to get one of the few available PSP units (major retailers Bic Camera and Yodobashi Camera have announced that they won't be taking pre-orders for the system). Stay tuned to IGNPSP for launch coverage of a different flavor on 12/12.
This is how the article ends. I don't know maybe it's just me, but that's a really stupid way to end an article that's suposed to be about the DS. I don't know, it seems...biased. That's the way I'd end an article about X-Box.

These links show how Anoop Gantayat's article is false or deceiving. Way to go IGN.

I heard IGN sucked, but I didn't know they sucked this bad. I'm glad I'm not an Insider member.

Anoop admits his mistake...

Anoop Gantayat of IGN wrote:There was apparently a bit more buzz from the first day of NDS sales than our original story may have suggested. Crowds exceeding 100 did indeed form at the main retail locations in the Shinjuku and Ikebukuro areas for retail giants Yodobashi Camera and Bic Camera. Unfortunately, Shibuya (our place of choice for all launch coverage) didn't draw too much fanfare, leaving us with a lonely first chat session (being in Shibuya did get us onto Famitsu.com, though, which is real cool).
But Craig Harris Editor-In-Chief of IGN DS goes ahead and makes fun its readers.

Craig Harris Editor-In-Chief of IGN DS wrote:Reviews extend far beyond the score that's given to it. You'd do yourself a favor if you'd actually read the text...instead of kneejerking a reaction by the number attached to it. I put a lot of effort pointing out the pros and cons of games within the article itself, yet the whole "Why did Mario 64 DS score an 8.9???" questions indicate to me that some of you are too lazy to put your reading skills to work. God bless the internet.

the heck with IGN...gamespot is better, anyway.

Insulting readers that way is unforgivable. Especially when they have had the same stale format for like 14 years

I don't usually frequent IGN for stuff besides their media. I've been checking out Gamespy lately and I think they're pretty cool.

Unfortunately IGN and GameSpy are owned by the same company. They merged like a year ago. I, like most people, was frustrated by that IGN article. I love my DS. And I'm sure I'll love my PSP whenever I get it. But if I read IGNDS, I don't want to see the DS get bashed in the same breath as the PSP is praised. I'm defenitly gonna give gamespot a frequent visit now.

what games do you have for the DS, Dubya?
