November 10, 2004 - As we post this, Nintendo is currently stocking up its warehouse facility in North Bend, Washington with hundreds of thousands of Nintendo DS systems, ready to be shipped off to retailers all over North America.

Readers who have preordered the unit from GameStop have reported a recent email sent out from the retailer that informed them of a change in release date. According to the email, the release date has changed from November 22 to November 15, one week earlier.

No official word from Nintendo at this point, but considering that we've already got our hands on the final retail boxed version this week, it's certainly not impossible for Nintendo to let slip these systems to retailers as soon as possible.

At any rate, if you want to ensure a system on this date, you'll need to track down a retailer still taking preorders for the Nintendo DS. And at this point though, you may be out of luck since big retailers such as GameStop and Electronics Boutique have suspended its in-store preorders.

Has anyone who works at a game store heard about this? Is it true? I have mine pre-ordered at EB Games. That would be soooo sweet if I could get it early. If Gamestop releases theirs early and EB Games does not, I will be very disapointed.

Yesterday they had a playable unit with metroid prime at the best buy that is by where i work in KCK. So it seems possible that they have already gotten theirs.
Also, I only played it for a few moments but it looked very good. Much better quality picture than i had in mind. I didn't care much for the controlls, but i only playe dit for 60 seconds and it's "revolutional" or what ever. SO that's to be expected.

Dang man. I went to the Best Buy here in Lawrence yesterday with Kitsune. They didn't have theirs in yet. Niether did EB Games. If I have time, I'll check again. The one that you played, was it one single unit or 2 next to each other?

Basically, was it this one?

or this one?

I want to find the double unit so I can experience some multiplayer action and Pictochat.

I PLAYED DS!!!

Kitsune went over to Best Buy (Overland Park) while I was at work and he called me up to tell me that they had theirs in. Later, I got a 15 minute break. I drove over to Best Buy, and then when I got there this guy was already playing it. When he finally stopped played for about 3 minutes and then I had to split to get back to work. But those 3 minutes were AMAZING. I must go back tommorow and play all day.
