I finally got myself a job, hopefully I can buy a ATI Radeon X800 XT or something very soon.

Well, rather than starting a new topic, I thought I'd just post a little on HL2 here.

I got the game unlocked right after 2:00 Central time and have been hooked ever since. I loved Halo 2, and nothing on the consoles can touch it. Half-Life 2 is amazing though so far. First I'll get the graphics out of the way. I don't have a fast machine any more. It's actually pretty pathetic by todays standards, but I'm way to broke to even thinking about upgrading my entire system. But even so, HL 2 runs great. It doesn't look as stunning, but it still looks good and plays smoothly. I can't wait to eventually play tis on a better system.

The gameplay is really what shines in HL 2. I like how the game begins, and I actually laughed pretty good a couple times near the beginning of the game. Fighting the enemies is interesting too. The physics engine is what makes this game so much better than most other games though. Like Jack mentioned on the front page, it's just fun to play within the environment. And once you get the gravity gun... I haven't progressed very far yet because I've been too busy playing around in the world, just flinging stuff everywhere, playing with the first vehicle, stuff like that. And I'm still amazed at some of the sutff I've pulled off

Everyone remotely interested in this game must buy it as soon as possible. It's living up to the hype. And those who are afraid it won't run on their system, my machine is still a lowly 1.4 ghz machine with a Geforce 3, and I can play it just fine.

My only real complaint I have with the game, is the lack of true HL multiplayer. It's understandable considering the single player is so good. But I never could get into CounterStrike and I so badly want to truely play with the physics and gravity gun with friends. It's only a matter of time we get a Valve addition or user mod that will fix this problem. I can't wait. And I hope to see some updated Crossfire and Stockyard levels.

Well, the multiplayer is here, a lot sooner than I thought it ever would be. And it's pretty fun so far, if not a bit laggy most of the time so far. The physics add so much to the traditional deathmatch. The gravity gun is a pretty cool new gun to use, and really makes the environments more important.

The other thing I notice though is how much different potential there is for mods just based on the physics engine. My room mate and I were having all kinds of fun on the outdoor level. We first tried using the gravity gun on big things like cars and dumpsters to push them into each other, first one to die loses. Then we played catch for a while with barrels, explosives, and radiators. Fun, but a little fast. I suck. Then we tried playing trap shoot with the rocket launcher. One of us would launch an item into the sky, and the other would be on top of the building and try and blast it out of the sky with the guided rockets.

ONce things calm down a little and run a bit better, and more maps are made, this will be quite fun, and I know I'll be playing for a good long while. I never was excited for CS Sourse, this is what I was looking for.

Hey, didn't they just release Half Life 2 Deathmatch? Has anyone played it? How is it?

Half-life 2 was a great game, short but great. And with no doubt, it kicks Halo 2's ass. Hands down. The graphics are amazing. During those close-up shots it's hard to tell if these are real people or 3D characters. From any distance, it looks fantastic. Story and gameplay wise, it is also fantasic. existence gives it 10 stars.

I just beat Half-Life 2. It's everything I could have ever wanted; seriously, this is the best video game ever made. The characters' facial animation is incredible; you can tell Alyx likes you by the way she looks at you- damn we've come a long way. The voice acting is good, music is great, weapons are excellent, and the physics are in-fucking-credible. I think Valve just ruined an entire genre for me, because nothing will ever top this.

It's going to take one hell of a game to impress me in the FPS category in the future.

When I get enough money to move into my own apartment I will, but the computer is in my living room (I live the mom) and she doesn't want to see guns or explosions or dead bodies flying around. So when I move out, I'll get whatever I want.

Although I don't know how much time I'll have to play, I have a goal of getting to 75/37 in FFXI by next summer. But that won't matter cause I cant get my own apartment till probably next fall.

Oh well, I still have some fun at home, we've this great buffet we throw every sunday after church and all the people come over. You guys can all come sometime if you want. I just got the new mario party, its really fun!
