Jack, Break, any of you. Do any of you have any idea why New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado Best Buys are pretty much out of PS2's. I've been trying to find a news story in relation to this phenomena but can't seem to find any answers.
We're all out right now and duh, it never occured to me to try and sell an Xbox in it's place till today. Oh yeah, I just started a part time job at Best Buy in media. Anyway, hope you can give me some answers, even if it's a "I never heard anything about this."

Best buy has been saying that, but there's no truth to it...they just didn't order enough to keep in their warehouse.

Dude, I knew their story was bogus. There would have to be a story about it somewhere if it were true.
Still doesn't explain why my local Target and Wal Mart are running short, I think....
Thanks again Jack, if anyone was going to get to the bottom of it, it was going to be here.

The reason is is Sony's stopped shipping in order to 'stock up' for the holiday rush, it is presumed. they've stopped shipping ot most of the stores in the St. Louis area as well.

if best buy had no PS2s, due to being sold out or being understocked. that would effect walmart and targets stock too, becouse the people who would normaly go to best buy, would have to go to target or walmart instead.

Well, even tho we're non commission sales people, we still get credit for what we sell, and I've had a lot of people ask for PS2's. I've been trying to sell them an Xbox instead, just making sure they're not going after PS2 for any real exclusives. Some bite, while others flat out deny me on Xbox. Not sure why.
Xbox- Hard Drive so no memory cards needed.
DVD player, just need the remote
Plenty of top shelf $20 games (altho not as many as PS2)
Better graphics (afterall, the this is what most average consumers look for right?)
Killer Exclusives
Custom soundtracks on some games
4 controller ports (no multitap to buy)
Built in Ethernet connection (altho if you do find a PS2, it's probably an online bundle)
Lot's of stuff to build on if people were to go Xbox. Some have just had their old PS2 die and want a new one, in which case, selling Xbox is hard cuz they already have tons of PS2 games.
Anyway, thanks for all that info people, I'll put it all together and see if I can't sell more Xbox's and GC's for the time being.
