How do you feel about the Sony invasion in to the gamer's private purchase?

I for one don't have much problem with it. I mean sure its annoying but its really a joke! No one should take them seriously. Frankly I don't think most of these people own a playstation before they take the job..they probally get one in the deal.

Anyways did Bison look urban enough? supposedly sony hires 'urban' people to sell their goods. I just wanted to check to make sure you would any to buy a playstation from the urban M.(C.) Bison.

They are payed to get people to buy Sony products. Its not really a joke, its just a company's way of selling their products.

Actually, that part doesn't bother me that much. The fake reviews of the Gamecube, did bother me. Similar to what Microsoft did, and got caught doing, with the switch ads.

I have never seen one of these so-called "hip and urban" reps in any store I have ever been into, and believe me, Rufus and I hung out in a Gamestop so long we got kicked out (Actually 3 times for me). Maybe people mistake us for these characters. I know I have done my fair share of Nintendo bashing and calling the games kiddie before. The same with such classic titles as Britney's Dance Beat and Mary Kate and Ashley's Olsen Jail-Bait Adventures (I think that was the title). I think some people might be a little too paranoid about the game industry.

People always seem to venhemently support the underdog.

examples:
I use Linux - I am more 1337 then you windoze losers
I got an ATI graphics card, Nvidia can lick my testicle
My AMD processor is far surpassing your Intel Processor

All the products I own, I bought because I believed they were superior to the other products and suited my needs better. I don't care if it is the underdog or the bandwagon or whatever, just don't be a fanboy is what I am trying to say.

And to the false advertising, Don't believe anything but accredited sources when dealing with consumer information. You should all know that

Yeah, we do. The whole point about it is that it is funny! They actually had to send representatives out to different stores and tell lies to get people to buy systems. I've seen it once from a distance, and it actually happened to Jack. Advertising on TV is one thing, as with the Nintendont ads, but this is another. Like I said in the last post, it doesn't really bother me, I just think its funny. Forging a review from a fake person does seem a little underhanded to me.

I own all three systems, and enjoy them all. The Gamecube happens to appeal to me the most. Without Nintendo their wouldn't be console gaming in the US, and I feel a slight feeling of warmth towards them for that. That said, I have never seen any better designed, and more artistic games than by Nintendo.

The Ps2 is a great system too. I marvel at some of the things developers have done with it. Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X, and Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven are excellent examples of wonderful things on this console.

The Xbox has its strong points in raw power, xbox live, and Panzer Dragoon. Panzer is one of the most beautiful games I've seen.

The fanboy thing... I think that the difference between a fanboy and a person that genuinely likes a system better is if they are informed about what they are tallking about. I've done research papers, researched on my own time, and read all I can about Video Games and their history. One reason is because it will help me in my career, and I just love to learn about my artform of choice. I have also given all three consoles, bought even, a chance. The GCN remains my favorite, and the one I play the most. No matter how much I respect Nintendo for their past, it would not make me sit down and waste time with a terrible game. I stick up for them because of respect, but I play their games because I like them more than any other.

In contrast, there are great things on other systems too. I've been playing Capcom VS. Snk2 a lot lately, and Frequency has been getting a lot of play as well. I try to get in a lot of variety so I can make informed disicions on the show, and on the site. If I love something, expect to hear superlatives. Maybe it will sound like I'm a fanboy, but, I am only being completely honest. Because that is all I can really promise. If I hate something, or am dissapointed, that will also come out. But, only because I want to give you the information I have.

If you want to see some Fanboys, go to IGN boards. There are all sorts, Ps2, GCN, and Xbox. All of them are rarely based on factual information. Kevin and I talked about this on our last gaming run to EB. We came up with this based on our experiences on the IGN boards: Ps2 fanboys are stupid, GameCube fanboys are blind, and Xbox fanboys are also blind. At least this is how they come off.

Ive had more problems with the salespeople trying to sell me the XBOX than anything else. I do belive that the store or corporation tells their employees to sell the box, for the $. Thats how I got my box, which i sold later when I realized that I was stupid. Now, im going to get in trouble for saying this, but the only place that I have been to that didnt try to stress the box was wal-mart, they seem to stress the cube there.......

Juan, as always, your posts are humerous and true.. But I thought you owned a Nvidia Video Card?

Heres another funny story along the same lines of companies sending people out to convince customers.. Telstra, Australias biggest phone company, bigest dial up ISP and biggest Broadband ISP was going to switch to Linux as its main O/S back in Nov. last year (we are probably talking close to 100k computers here).... Microsft was so worried about this that they dispatched Steve Balmer (Second in command to Bill) to make them stay with Microsoft.. Apparently it worked.
