Hello, I've got a question for you guys. I've been listening to a lot more gaming music lately. Can you recommend some places to buy cheap game soundtracks or download some gaming music? I like some of the Overclocked stuff, but I'm especially looking for original music that was in the games. I love having gaming music on in the background while doing other stuff because it's not as destractive because most don't have lyrics. Any help you can give me would be great. I'd love to build my gaming music collection. Here's a little of what I'd be interested in.
Castlevania's, NES, GBA, and everything in between.
Metroid/Super Metroid
Mario series
Mario Kart series
Banjo Kazooie
Lots of stuff from the 8 and 16 bit era.
Remixed stuff is ok too.
I like a lot of the stuff you guys play on the show.
While we're on the topic, music is generally overlooked in gaming I think. What are some of your favorite songs and game soundtracks?
Thanks for the help guys.

Wild Arms has probably the second greatest theme song, behind the Final Fantasy Crystal theme. In general, I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy music.

Tribes 2, Halo, UT2k4, Unreal 2 and Painkiller all have awesome music. Those are the games I like most for their sound. I know that Painkiller's website has some sweet mp3's. You used to be able to buy the Tibes 2 soundtrack, you might find a used one on Ebay or something.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to look at more of those. I have some of the remixes there already, but there's plenty more I don't have. Do you know where I can get MP3's or soundtracks for a lot of the original music in a lot of these older games? Remixes are cool, but the real deal is better sometimes, and Midi's usually don't sound quite the way they should.
And I forgot about a couple games in my favorites list.
Halo
It's soundtrack is one of the many great things about this game. The soundtrack rocks. I thin my favorites are Brothers at Arms, Rock Anthom, and Covenent Dance. I am definitely going to get the new Halo Soundtrack witht he extra disc when I get money again.
Zelda series
I guess I didn't list this before because I already had most of the original Zelda music already. LTTP, OOT, and Wind Waker have great music.
Oh, and where did you get a lot of those original Castlevania tunes I often hear in the show?
Thanks againf or the help guys.

Wrath, you're TRYING to get Afrotect to kill puppies at this point, aren't you? You should be ashamed of yourself, you puppy-hater.
I kid! I kid because I love.

Get bit torrent, go to suprnova.org and you can get OSTs easy. I recommend the following:
FF10 OST
Sonic Heroes (don't worry, some songs are good)
Soul Calibur 2
Shining force (go to
http://shiningforcecentral.com)
zophar's domain -
http://zophar.net
has a lot of old vg music from NES to genesis and more check that out. youll have to get some plugins at winamp.com if you use that.
uhh
Sonic Racing has some good ones, instrumental.
you can find some realplayer versions of them over at
http://sonicfoundation.org - vocals suck
ill post some more when i think of it. if all else fails and you hate these and your eyes are falling out of your head, do a google search and hope for the best.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've found a few gems at Suprnova a while back. Managed to find the Prince of Persia soundtrack with is actually pretty cool. I loved how they mixed persian style music with techno and rock.
I'll definitely have to keep looking for more older stuff. The originals are quite hard to find though. Remixes are everywhere, but I'd like some of the real deal. When I get more money I'm definitely buying those Castlevania CD's, the Dracula's Best, and Circle of the Moon Soundtrack. Anyone know if there's one for Aria of Sorrow yet?
