Astro Boy

I've had the opportunity to play the upcoming Astro Boy GBA game, and oh my Gawd do I love it. It's co-developed by Sega's Hitmater Studios and Treasure, and the level of talent involved in the making of the game is evident.
One, this game is not easy. Even on easy mode, the bosses at the end are enough to make the most hardcore gamer shrink back. (Damn you, Epsilon!) I highly anticipate trying to play this game on normal mode, where the level of supers you can store at one time is limited down from 99 to 3.
Two, the gameplay is top-notch. It plays like a mix between Viewtiful Joe and Mega Man, with the occassional Border Down-style shooting stage mixed in (horizontal shooter), the obvious influence of Treasure showing through.
This game had better come out in the states, and if it doesn't, I'll probably import it. Play it, however you can get your hands on it.
EDIT: And holy shit, I just read that the PS2 Astro Boy game was developed by the former members of UGA. Great, now there's another PS2 game on my "to-import" list.

good lord, i just noticed liek all over anime and shit everyone is all of a sudden into astro boy. That is some old ass anime....1951? The comic was made? And in teh 60s it was an anime....long ass one too, like 200 epipsodes? Anyway, astro boy is lame in my opinion, don't see why everyone is all of a sudden YES, retro ass anime. I have not seen much anime lately because frankly nothing compares to Da Capo, best anime ever. I am starting to watch SaiKano, it is pretty cool, but Da Capo is always the absolute best. Never have liekd Astro Boy, the color ones OR the ancient black and white ones. I just don't see where this hype came from, it just snuck up on me and now thats all i hear about on IRC. Astro boy is even on Cartoon network, (don't watch toonami anymore, but I saw a commercial before adult swim came on, but anyway) I dunno, i just don't understand it.

The sudden big deal is that it's Astro Boy's 30th Anniversary. The cartoon they've been showing on WB recently and have just started showing on Cartoon Network is a modern remake of the old story. I never did get into the show either, but like it or not, it's soooo influential on any other anime you could possibly watched. It started it all; that's the reason it's so hyped up. In Japan, Astro Boy is kind of like their equivalent of characters like Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse. And irregardless of whether or not it's good, the GBA game seriously is one of the best 2-D platformers I've ever played.
And I've heard pretty unflattering reviews of Da Capo... You say it's good, though?
