Well from the sounds of it changing your opinion is just the story of Q's life.

This is true as evidenced by this and his famous Xbox hate to love. But, is that really a bad thing? Having an open mind and being open to change is one of the qualities that makes someone a person I want to be around. Q just does it to the extreme.

I don't mind it as long as you don't do it to the extreme. If you do it too much you go from open-minded to...indecisive...or you're just not making any sense. One of the 2.

I call it being young, dumb, and ugly. I like to think I've grown out of that stage. Unlike some people.

He is correct. He has grown out of that young, dumb, and ugly stage. After all, I'm sure some people would argue that he's not young anymore.

Oh ouch...That was a little harsh. But he set himself up for it and I couldn't residst :D

I love Q for who he is. And the Qishness of Q is also why he's on the staff.

I know, but I couldn't resist taking that swing at him after he set himself up for that so perfectly lol. No offense behind it, but Q knows that.

Unfortunately, this disscussion is proabably all done and over with. But I think the question is "why" do we need a remake. I say this because I loved that game.
If the purpose is for better graphics then (in my opinion) we don't need one.
No matter how awesome the graphics are, one will never feel the same level of awesomeness and experience FF7 generously gave the first go around.
What I think we should be working on (that hasn't happened yet) is another game with different characters and story that will give us that same (but different) level of excitement, intrigue and yes "deliciousness" that FF7 gave us back when. :)

Honestly, there are two things that have kept me from playing FF7: the terrible loads times (which come up every 5 seconds thanks to the random encounters) and the shit awful graphics. Both of these would be remedied in a remake.

JerRyu
See: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

I am so excited for both of these. It's been said that Final Fantasy Versus will be more like Kingdom hearts, (creators of KH are making it) which is also awesome. It's gonna have those awesome graphics as well as a new story line. I'm pumped!

After watching the trailer, it seems that all the actions you can take in FFXIII are influenced by the environment. So expect to see bosses that you'll have to knock off of a cliff or will be so tall that you have to jump up to a ledge to bust it in the face.

It also seems to focus more on looking kickass than anything else, so you can also expect to do over a thousand backflips before the game is over :P
