So there has never been a game that you really wanted and planned on buying but decided to go and download it?

Just because you never planned on buying the game means you have every right to download that game that a handful of people worked so hard on? Something doesn't add up here...

I can totally understand the desire to play an old that is no longer sold in stores and downloading is the only option. But downloading a game that is widely available is definitely not ok in my book.

In fact, some of the games that I really wanted and downloaded I ended up buying in the end anyway. MGA2 I bought because of 3D goggles (sounds so weird), Tekken because I wanted to see the semi-lame FMVs that wouldn't fit on my memory stick.

In any case, whether or not I wanted to buy them, would I even have the funds to? I've bought just as many games this year as last, and yet I've had the potential to play far more with the same amount as money as I normally would spend going into the industry. I also bought MPO specifically because I wanted to support Kojima (love that man).

If you don't have the funds, you don't play the game. Plain and simple. These games aren't free to make. Sure, people argue that charging $60, $50, $30, what ever, is too much but it still doesn't mean that these games should all be free either. Playing games is a privilege, not something you need to survive. If you really want to play all these games, why not get a job like the rest of us.

People like you hurt the industry. I just hope your kind is minuscule and doesn't flesh out to destroy the industry.

I really don't have any qualms with downloading games. I'm still spending the same amount of money I would have otherwise (most of which already went to used retailers like EB or pawn shops, which funnels no more money into the hands of developers), but I'm enjoying plenty more games I would otherwise have had no way of playing.

Hey, Vamp, you ever hear the story of the poor, starving artist?

Guess how he became so poor...

His art sucked, that's how

Back on topic, all further things going to new WiizerFanBoy topic.

I recently beat Harmony of Dissonance as means of starting into the Castlevania series. It was pretty good, but I'm hoping Rondo of Blood is better. I might play it on my PC engine emulator before picking up the remake.

I don't think you get to escape the fact that you are utterly and morally wrong for illegally dling games. Unless you cannot find that game ANYWHERE and cannot come into possession of it by any other means at all, you have NO right to dl it, to restate what mecha already said. If you can't afford a new TV, you don't get the TV. If you can't afford a million dollar house, you don't live in that house. If you can't afford a fucking game, YOU DON'T PLAY THE GAME!

I think we have a good conversation going on here about how downloading is hurting the industry, and vamp's view on why he does it. Sure it's a lil off topic but it's still a good conversation. Let's try to keep it intelligent guys.

I'll do what I want, when I want. I will choose my own path, and my own set of morals. And stop trying to derail this thread.

Actually, you won't "do want you want". There are rules to follow. :)

I am so tempted to use the N word right now.

Well, while the N word shouldn't be discriminated against because, hell, I am an avid supporter of the 1st amendment, that's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard Vamp. In my life. I seriously want you to just use the word so that someone will just brighten my day and beat the shit outta ya! :)

It's one of the few words Break and the admins here take exception to. I'll not say it out of respect for them, and so I don't get perma-banned on the spot.
