I didn't grow up with FF7 either and I still enjoyed it.Vamp wrote:I grew up with a Gameboy Pocket and later Color, a NES on life support, and a Genesis with no games that had a save feature. I don't really care how good a game looked or played "at the time"; if it doesn't stand the test of time I'm not going to play it today. That would be why last week I threw out my old GBP and GBC. Richie, when you look at FF7 you're not seeing the game for what it is, you're seeing the memories you had playing it ages ago. I don't see that because I didn't play it ages ago; all I'm concerned about is how the experience will be for me -today-. I gave it a shot with a cute friend of mine over the summer, and she was pretty pissed at me when I said I wanted to stop playing because it looked like ass and the battles took too long to load, but it's the truth.
Overrated? Hell yes. Bad game? Hell no.
The graphics didn't affect any judgment I held toward the game. The load times didn't either. Personally, I just think you're trying to hate things for the sake of hating them, but still trying to find reasons to hate them. I dunno why I bother though...
Vamp = most stubborn person I've ever talked to...ever.
