Samurai Champloo is more around the time of colonial america I think. Its so anachronistic its really hard to tell though. Its before the Meiji restoration, though, that much is obvious.

Lol. Yeah, that checkpoint episode was pretty funny. I laughed my ass off when I saw it was on fire. I was like, "Oh... My God, they AREN'T!!"

The current episode was also cool for me when I first saw it. This is mainly because the guy that uses his chi and wind to fight is slightly reminisce of a character that a friend and I made for a novel of ours. It was cool seeing the abilities we chose for that character come alive in another's, even if it wasn't intentional towards us. The guy was awesome despite his warped sense of fun.

Sorry I've been absent for a while, too. I've had a lot on my mind lately. I've been subbing InuYasha Movie 4 (which was just released), learning some more programming language, and my mom was shipped to the hospital yesterday for falling. Ugh. It's been horrible the past two weeks. I'm back now. :D .

Reminds me of some Rouroni Kenshin crap. Or perhaps some Inuyasha stuff...I mean destroying someone's internal organs with wind is pretty freaky...

Well I guess I saw a bitch fest after all :P That was pretty messed up. If I was Jin I would've kiled that guy that was beating on his wife.

Eh I wouldve ended up killing every person running that place. Theres no way I couldve stood that.

I know! All through that ep I was just saying to myself "Come ON! Kill 'em!"

Mugen finally got a couple, and then Jin got three at the end, but still not enough. :P

That episode was one of my favorites, I have to say. It was what you call a "recap episode", an episode usually created for two: 1. For new viewers to catch up; 3. For those who've watched from the beginning to remind them what happened in the past.

I hate these normally because it's just a compilation of all episode previous with nothing new whatsoever (my memory for anime I'm watching is like a military report being read by an elephant), but Samurai Champloo's spin of a recap episode was insanely entertaining because they put a humor twist to it. Gotta love and respect Shinichiro Watanabe.

hehheh BUUULLLLLLSHIT

I cant believe they already started the entire series over again...

O well at least this will give us a chance to go over things...did the Japanese really believe in the River Stix? I thought that was just a Greek thing...

I'm sure that's just a western aproximation.

Has antone watched a fansub of that ep? Any idea what an alternate, more literal translation might be?

I hear they're making a Samurai Champloo game now. And I also hear that hip-hop and music will play a big role in the fighting combos...the type of combo you do depends on the song playing on the turn-table...sounds weak if you ask me.

It could've been good, its a cool concept, but it doesn't look very good from what I've seen of the game. Too bad. :(
