Well I watched a vid of FMA1 for pS2 and it looked like the alchemy was sucky, your partner got in your way, your alchemy hurt him way too much, and it was just long hallways with enemies in them and an occasional transfiguration hotspot.

Yep it looked like it sucked to me.

Unfortunately... You're correct in all aspects. Not only that, but the game will last only about 13 hours in all, there's a very limited amount of things you can transmute, everything is just too easy (even the last boss), and all you basically do is look for stuff.

As a pun off of PSM's "Buy or Die" rating, I give Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel a "Buy and Die" rating. Not worth it even to rent... I'd say it's only for the super die-hard fans of the series.

Also, I'd like to post an extreme warning (no spoilers, you can read):

* EXTREME WARNING *

Do not, whatsoever, look for any material pertaining to the Fullmetal Alchemist movie! All information you find will lead to the most major spoilers and will absolutely ruin your fun of the series. This is kind of a given, but I thought I'd point that out since I was just reviewing some information on it for my fansub group.

How bout they just go get the fansubs for FMA watch them and then look for info on the movie.

Seriously I watched that show in about 4 days. It was an awesome 4 days.

BTW, I am now on Episode 85 of Naruto. It has been great the whole time.
I started a little over a week ago and now I am on Ep. 85....kind of wierd to think at how much time that is.

I dont mean to be rude but I like understanding what the characters say especially after I heard it in English first. If they had an uncut English version then that would be great but I cant stand trying to do two things at once (reading text and watching a cartoon). It wouldnt be too hard but it just wouldn't be too enjoyable for me.

I'm watching the newest episode of Fullmetal Alchemist right now. It's weird. Really, its been so long since I've seen the series that I'm totally lost. I think I know where we are... Oh! <looks at the burning Library> Okay, I know (at least I think) where we are.

Anyway, its getting really good. I'll have to rewatch the episodes I still have of the fansub... see if I can refresh a better part of my memories of the earlier episodes. We still haven't even passed 25, but we're really close... Man! I can't wait to see how they did that episode!

There probably won't ever be an "uncut" version of the English dub when it comes to dialogue. There was absolutely no swearing in the series. At all... At rarest, there was a "damn" every couple of episodes, but those were needed and they don't censor that word anymore. The dub sticks close to what I knew in the Japanese fansubs. Even the pronunciations are close (some ARE off a bit, but not by much).

... <looks at the screen> Sheska really is a dolt. I'm telling you. Anyway. This is just so exciting, even if it is for the second time.

What I hate the most about the dub though is the fact that they've changed stuff that's so trivial I'm wondering if they're smoking crack... They're using the fourth OP and the final ED for the English dub on TV. That's Toonami's fault, I know, but still. It's evil. They also changed how the episode title is displayed. I mean, why not keep it light blue? Normally it stays blue and the text keeps "backing away" (ie. getting smaller) instead of stopping on a black and white alchemy symbol. I mean what the hell?

Its not Toonami, its Adult Swim. Still, at least they're trivial changes and not major ones, right? :)

Maybe theyll change the opening sometime later. That little bald guy really scares me :/

They actually started with the second opening for some reason.

About fansubs...I prefer the fansubs..but you will hate them if you cant read really fast. My sister can't watch them at all just because she is a slow reader. It just depends one your reading ability and if you prefer to see them in there original form or not.

(or one of my reasons, I like being able to watch an entire show in a week rather than a year on TV)

In some ways I agree with Prog39, but it is always fun for me to watch the fansubs as they just come out, week per week, just like I always have. Somehow to me its more fun to watch weekly episodes rather than all at once.

I'm sure Richie can back me up when I say watching InuYasha episodes one after another (I got to about 110) will make you sick and fucking tired of it. However, I can also agree that watching a series one after another, without the annoying stops along the way, is rather pleasent. Just as long as it doesn't pass 100 episodes, I think I do pretty good watching series' one after another.

It's also true that when I first started watching fansubs (before I actually started making them myself, too), I could hardly keep up with the subtitles. Now I read the subtitles out of my perepheral vision (can't spell, sorry) and just watch the show. Not many can do this, but after a while I just got used to doing it.

Practice, practice, practice!

Im enjoying watching Gundam SEED DESTINY episode by episode. A show like Last Exile I enjoyed seeing in 4 days.

In Naruto I am now at episode 104, by the end of next week I will be caught up, then I will get to watch it week by week. Plus there will be the two movies to watch.

With Inuyasha I got sick of it because there was so much filler. So much filler that it wasnt ended but cancelled. Now the movie has to tie up so much. Well see what happends when I can see the movie...then probably some OVA's will release.

If you keep updated with my "InuYasha's End" forum topic, you'll get the up to date latest information on the InuYasha anime. There's also a link there that will direct you to translations of the manga which is still continuing. The InuYasha maddness isn't over yet!

I still have to update the topic on several things, but I think I might be able to that this weekend (I still haven't gotten into contact with our translator who went to see the fourth movie, which is why I haven't updated yet).

*Slight Spoilers*

So Lust and Gluttony are Homunculi. Interesting...
That means they were created by someone. I wonder who?
Just tell me this, do we ever find out?

They couldve been made using the Philosipher's Stone :/ Hey this isnt a spoiler its just a guess.

(glances at TV) OMG! You all should be glad you dont watch Sci Fi channel much. This one lady got shot and fell into a pool of hamburger at a meat processing plant...god if that batch gets shipped it will be worse than ChiChi's!

Anyways. Ive never seen badguys in an anime that seemed to piss me off as much as Lust and Gluttony and that one savior wannabe...o yeah, Scar.

Whenever I see a badguy get away with something like they do it pisses me off

If anyone has screens or movies of FMA2 for PS2 please link me.

Verence, you do find out the origins of Lust. Gluttony is another matter entirely... I don't too much like him either to tell the truth, so if his origins were explained... I don't remember. :P . I don't think they went into too much detail about him -- actually, in the popularlity poll they did in the manga, I believe Gluttony was the most hated. Haha (I don't know for sure)!

Anyway, I'm going to refrain from posting too much more in this topic as... well... I might make a slip up like last time. Granted I stated that it might lead to spoilers, but it was still pretty horrible. I still feel bad about it.

Next episode is episode 19: "The Genuine Truth Behind Truths". I didn't watch enough of the last episode (I think I fell asleep for an hour or so) so I don't know what the English dubbed name is, but it should be something like that...

I have a scan of the third Fullmetal Alchemist game preview from March's edition of GanGan, but I don't have anything for the second. Sorry!
