Not especially. You learn more stuff but it remains weird and confusing. It's still awesome though. You can't really expect something that deals with the nature of reality to make all that much sense. And Duvet is a beautiful song.

The only gripe I have so far is how the show starts with the exact same scene every episode, and how every episode raises a new question left unanswered (so far). What does the psyche processor do that makes it so amazing and valuable? What happened to the girl that committed suicide and e-mailed lain from 'The Wired' ? Who are the two men in black spying on Lain? what made Lain's sister lose control of her own physical body? What prophecy must they fulfill?

Other than that I like it.

I really like Serial Experiments Lain, its a masterpiece. The implications of the ending to me where very shocking.

If anyone hasn't checked it out yet, you should definately give Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo a chance. The animation and character design is amazing, but Im not sure if everyone will love it. A lot of the fabrics and backgrounds are, well....busy, to say the least. They consist of complex patterns that stay static despite the character's movement. That may sound confusing, you may have to see it yourself to even understand what I mean. I've never read Alexandre Dumas's classic novel (the source material) but the story is incredible! I literally cried at the end.

I reccomend Berserk if no one has seen that yet. It's my favorite series and its been out for quite some time, and surprisingly a lot of anime fans I talk to outside of the internet have never seen it. In my opinion it has one of the greatest storylines and complex believable characters. The philosophical implications of the dark cosmology presented near the end are reinforced by a knowledge of the metaphysical and pyschological. Anyone who has read Jung even briefly will be horrified.

Anyway, now I'm starting Death Note this weekend. I saw one episode on Adult Swim and I was hooked. Now I'm anxious to see it in the original Japanese. Has anyone seen the series? If so what did you think?

Good call on Death Note Rift. A warning though, the show is at it's prime episodes 1-16. after that it goes downhill for about 7 episodes, and then comes back to being good again.

damn :( .... Is it one of those series that just ran a little too long? A series that I thought was a roller coaster of good/mediocre was Texhnolyze. It doesn't seem well known. One of the things I liked about it was the realistic feel it gave. A lot of anime is saturated with high fantasy (improbable) battles and action. Which is a GOOD thing don't get me wrong, but it was nice to see some more likely physics for a change. It had a sci-fi novel feel.

America needs to just put an end to making all non movie cartoons, let the Japanese take care of making good cartoons.

lol, yeah I used to say the same thing. America has only recently gotten animation on par with anime with the new Avenger movies. I thought they were really good. Great action
