I know, acronym overload. I blame the influence of Mericks. :P
You don't try blaming me. You could've typed those out with or without my influence.

Also, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow > Splinter Cell

I can't comment on Double Agent yet, however. I have yet to play it.

They felt like the same game to me, which is what Ubisoft Shanghai seems to be doing. They use the same engine as the previous game and just work on the multi player. The true Montreal team creates a whole new Splinter Cell experience.

It's kinda like they let the Shanghai teams work on expansions.

I never really got that feeling of the 1st 2 games being the same. The environments, controls, gadgets and the lack of any major gunfights, that I can really recall, (which shouldn't be put in Splinter Cell due to the low, low health you have to deal with) really made the game feel different. The puzzle solving portions also felt notably different as well. I can't really compare any of the games to each other outside the fact that they're all stealth games.

They really should have gotten rid of the merc's proximity detector :/

Or make it so that you could turn it off if you're the host of the match. Most fucking uncustomizable online play ever.

What's the proximity detector do? Give away the (I'll call them ninjas) ninjas away if they got too close or something?

Back on topic (sort of)...

In the last couple of days there's even been talk of FFXIII no longer being an exclusive, and the natural other platform would be 360 (I laugh at how bad it would have to look to run on Wii... compare to that terrible Virtua Fighter 2 for Sega Genesis). If that happens it looks increasingly likely that I'll buy a 360, and if MGS4 gets ported as well it'll be the only console I buy this gen.

Hopefully the Elite fixes the hardware problems people have been having... and hopefully it's easy to hack. Theoretically though, 360 would be the better choice for hackers since downloading a 50GB... hell even 20GB Blu-Ray game, buying a Blu-Ray burner (expensive), and buying Blu-Ray discs (also expensive) makes it all the more difficult to work with a hacked PS3.

Well, FFXIII wouldn't look too bad if ported to the Wii. No doubt it wouldn't look as good, but I wouldn't look THAT bad. Especially if a console with outstandingly different hardware (PS2) can pull off God of War 2, then I think the Wii shouldn't have much trouble pulling off the same/better shit with graphics.

But moving past that, how fucked is Sony going to be if all these exclusives get ported? I mean sure they still have some other seemingly great games coming out as exclusives, but I doubt the PS3 will do a very good job if MGS4 an FFXIII get ported. I mean holy shit, the only game they've been spamming to get people to buy the PS3 is MGS4, if that gets ported...well, I doubt the 360 version will be as good since Kojima has a bias towards Sony, but that doesn't change the fact that your flagship title was just ported, making your system...Not so special anymore.

You've seen the FFXIII trailers, right? It looks like Advent Children.

Yes I've seen the trailers, but thing is you have a habit of underestimating the Wii, just like I have the habit of overestimating. Doesn't change the fact that the game would look bad just because it's ported to the Wii. It won't look as good, obviously, but it won't look terrible.

Hate to say it Mericks, but it'd be a pretty significant difference. The point about Advent Children is pretty accurate, although I'm a little resistant in believing that the 'gameplay footage' is actually gameplay footage. In either case, the Wii can do good graphics, but it simply doesn't have the power to put out anything close to the 360 or PS3, especially considering it can't do more than 480p.

PS2 =/= Wii

In fact, in terms of power:

PS2 < Wii

So, if the PS2 can pull of the graphics in God of War II, it means the Wii should be able to do better. It also means that just because one game doesn't look as good as other versions on the PS2, dosn't mean that all games on the Wii will look like shit, thus if FFXIII were ported, it wouldn't look as good as the PS3 version, but it wouldn't look like shit. Is any of this getting to you, Vamp?
