They should, but they won't.

And an Asus board, huh...Realm had an Asus board the first time we tried to build his rig, and it had a bad IDE controller. Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence...

I have a completely working Asus board, although my ATI graphics card never liked to play nice with it's nvidia chipset before I replaced it.

I've had good luck with MSI, and they're usually great about packing in extras. I've also heard good things about Gigabyte.

Sorry, not trying to fuck you over.

Not trying, but succeeding quite well. :P

I just got my "replacement" Asus board.

It's a god damn doorstop. Doesn't beep, doesn't post, doesn't do jack squat.

Oh, and I tested all of the components in my roomate's computer, they work just fine.

I am quite thoroughly pissed off. I really don't want to PAY to ship this one back AGAIN.

Got my new hard drive and power supply in the rig. :D Crappy webcam pics follow.

A feature power supplies have needed for a long time: the end device cables are modular, so you only use what you need, and never end up with a whole ream of extra junk hanging around in the case.

Plenty of space for pr0n. SATA, of course.

Nice power supply!

I have to content myself with stuffing all the extra cables I don't use in an empty drive bay. :?

That power supply feature is really awesome. I've been thinking about
that for a while.

OK, I'm getting a refund and thinking of getting one of these mobos...

EPoX EP-AF590SLI2 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a ... 6813123018

GIGABYTE GA-M59SLI-S5 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI
(The one I'm leaning towards right now.)
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a ... 6813128011

ECS KN3 SLI2 (1.0) Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a ... 6813135040

DFI LANPARTY UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a ... 6813136014

If you have advance knowledge of any mobo crappiness please let me know.

That Gigabyte looks good at first glance, but what's with the COM/Serial ports? The DFI is $30 more, but has FireWire and more USB ports than you can shake a stick at. I've got a nForce 2 LanParty in my rig, and I love it. The onboard POST lights are nice, and it's a breeze to set up.

I've never heard of ECS before, and never had experience with EPoX, so can't say much. I'd hit up TomsHardware.com for more info; they do the most in-depth and honest reviews of hardware around.

That the first place I checked, Tom's Hardware had an article comparing all the major socket AM2 mobos. The conclusion? They're all awesooome!

So not much help in making a decision. :P

The modular power supplies are all known to have loose rails and the voltage can fluctuate. Im getting a PC power & cooling 750W. 200$ Best on the market. Modulars can be nice though, what brand is that?
