I want to play a lot of these games too. The Wii is definitely the system I play the most of now. Whether its Twilight Princess, Wario Ware, playing a GCN game, or a VC game. There are some games I'm really looking forward to on the ps3, though; Force Commander and Virtua Tennis. Both of which won't be out on Wii. (But will be out on 360.) Also Final Fantasy XIII.weezerjedi wrote:I want to play Wii Play. I heard it's mediocre, but you can pick it up with a Wii-mote and the tank game is supposed to be pretty cool.
Sonic looks like alot of fun.
Excite Truck is alot of fun. Playing with a custom soundtrack is pretty cool. I play with Fucked Up as my soundtrack.
Friends of mine tell me that Dragon Ball Z is really addicting. I really want to play that too.
I'd also like to play Elebits.
There's also a whole bunch of DS games that I want to play...
FFIII, Children of Mana, Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, Kirby Squeak Squad, Phoenix Wright 2, Hotel Dusk, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, Magical Starsign, more, more and more.

That's way too vague, Vamp. I mean the Wii isn't just getting an early success, it's a flat out success as we can see. I mean they're getting the most units out at launch of the 3 systems so far and they're still having the most trouble keeping up with demand. Still. I'm not nearly avid enough in the business world to go and say percentages right now, but I'd say that the Wii will at least make 2nd place. It has to with this much demand and success already stacking up at it's doorstep.Vamp wrote:I'm expecting a little something like this by the time all is said and done:
Xbox 360: 50%
PS3: 25%
Wii: 25%
Of course, that could vary widely if one of them, most likely Wii given Nintendo's track record on handhelds, gets an early successor.
I mean damn, I have a friend that's trying to say he'd rather play a system that kills the others in hardware (ironically he hasn't considered getting a PS3 at all...hypocrite) who will come over to my house or invite me over to his place just to play my Wii. That is how addictive it is. Also, interesting note, He plays 3 games primarily. Wii Sports, TP, and..........Red Steel, but he dabbles in ET sometimes too.

Things can change mighty fast. The biggest thing holding back PS3 sales is the price, and as soon as there's a price drop I'm certain they'll be flying off the shelves.
The only reason I see 360 as coming out on top is because it has the greatest momentum, and the biggest appeal among casual games. After Halo 3 comes out there's pretty much no stopping it.

Well, I won't deny the fact that Halo 3 will make the 360 dominate the competition (despite the fact that I think the Halo games are abomonations of games).
But look at the PS3 and Wii. The Wii has the most software of the 2 because it has more demand. More software means more demand, and the more software, the more people will like it, and Nintendo's getting tons of quality software through the year as well.
The PS3, however, has less software because it's dev kits cost a shitload to start off, and developers are afraid to develop for a system that gets few sales. Since it's getting less games, that further lowers demand, and I can't name many quality titles for it. I can name a few, but not many. This makes LESS interest still. Also, the PS3 can't go through a low price drop soon since Sony is already shooting itself in the nuts with the $600 price tag. I mean they are losing over $200 as is, if they go down at all then they'll need massive and massive amounts of software just to cut even.
I really think if anything, the PS3 will be in dead last.

Way to pull that $200 loss on each console out of your ass. Already they've managed to lower the cost of producing each PS3 by simplifying the production and outsourcing certain production items to other companies.
And by the by, PS3 happens to have a lot more heavy hitters on the way than Wii. MGS4, FF13/versus, DMC3, Tekken 6, GT5, RE5, UT3, Assassin's Creed, White Knight Story... somehow I think it's going to do fairly well, perhaps even better than Wii and not just equal to it in terms of console sales.

1. I didn't pull that $200 comment out of my ass. I've heard tha fact from waaaaaaaay more than 1 person.Vamp wrote:Way to pull that $200 loss on each console out of your ass. 2. You don't even know about most of the good titles coming on the Wii...NMH, SMG, SSBB, BWII, SatSR, Disaster, Sadness, Project HAMMER, Dewy's Adventure... There, I equalled your number of games, I won't list more.
3. You're living in a fantasy world if you think the PS3 can equal either of the other 2 consoles in sales. They're having trouble just producing enough units to match either 1 of them. Yes, I do know that they could easily rack those numbers up in the future, but let me give you an idea of what we're getting here in Kansas. My Wal-mart's launch numbers for the systems were:
Wii - 20
PS3 - 2
I am not kidding you, we had the guy who was 3rd in line for the PS3 in my Wii line (he was 7th in our line) and he didn't get his PS3. Needless to say, he did a lot of bitching about that, but that's not the point of the story.

I didn't try to compare good games, I tried to compare heavy hitters (games that will move consoles, killer apps if you will). Do you honestly believe anyone will say "I want to buy a Wii because of Dewy's Adventure!"? Didn't think so.
Also, PS3's are getting easier to come by, people just aren't buying them because they cost $500... and yes you really did pull that loss per console number out of your ass, there is no objective way to know that unless Sony announces it which they aren't going to do.

The Ps3 and Wii both beat the 360's launch numbers, which I find interesting. It is going to be even more interesting to see if the two can catch up in terms of total sales.
It is amazing how the 360 has managed to gain a stranglehold on the casual audience. Sony always managed to pull in this crowd + the hardcore RPG and MGS crowd as a given. Any frat house wouldn't be complete without a 360 and a copy of Madden. Also, given the fact that many gamers have a 360 by now, many hard core gamers are loving their 360s as well. They've really gotten some nice bit marks into all the relative field of gamers.
Granted, the Wii is making great progress in the casual field. No one's more casual than people that didn't use to play games, and that is who Nintendo has explicitly said they have targetted. You add in the Nintendo fanboy plus many hardcore gamers that simply like Nintendo and ignore their casual target, and you've got quite the user base.
The ps3 has the hardware advantage, but not much more as of yet. Most people don't have the technology to take advantage of this stuff yet, either. The price drop may change things, but it is possible that gamers (and people in general) are just too concervative and Sony shot too far into the technological future.
This console race is a lot of fun so far! All the competition should give the gamers some great products.

Since a lot of people in the Wii's audience do want family friendly games, it is very likely that Dewy's Adventure could become a heavy-hitter. Especially since it's coming from the same people from Konami that made Elebits, another unexpected heavy hitter since it secretly gained tons of hype. Since launch, I have seen it on store shelves once, and that 1 time I didn't have the money on me to buy it either...dammit...Vamp wrote:I didn't try to compare good games, I tried to compare heavy hitters (games that will move consoles, killer apps if you will).
