Genji 2's been getting pretty shitty reviews so far... Basically they say that it's just a really pretty hack-and-slash with repetitive combat... Wait a second... I bought Ninety-Nine Nights and loved it... Damn! Maybe I should be playing Genji 2!

Hmm, life is funny that way.
So yeah, Break? You can go ahead and delete this thread, it's obviously not going to work. I had hoped it would be a safe thread for people to display enthusiasm for the PS3 without having to deal with shit.
How naive of me.
I didn't state anything negative in that sentence. If you have a problem with me thinking that a box is extremely empty when I pay $600 for it, then I suppose it'd also be negative to say I'm disappointed to pay 50 cents for a small pack of gum in a vending machine, or it'd be a disappointment to spend 60 cents on a can of soda in a machine when I could get a bottle which has twice as much for $1.
Simply put, it is a severe let down. Even if the boxes in other systems are empty, at least tehy try to makei t look more full. I really get kind of disappointed if there's so much empty space in a box, it just makes it seem more lackluster. I'm sure that relates to a psychological thing that Break probably learned about in his fancy class. I dunno. I have a very minor understanding of human psychology. Just things I picked up here and there.
You're upset that there is empty space inside the Ps3 casing?
The ps3 casing was designed to eliminate heat without generating a lot of noise.. The fact that the box has the cell processor, more powerful processing power than the 360, blu-ray, free online etc... makes you think you're getting ripped off? The fact that my 360 is breaking down makes me feel like I'm getting ripped off.

I didn't say that, Matt. I said that it feels disappointing to pay $600 and just find this empty space. It is in fact, pretty damn discouraging to see mountains of empty space in the box you paid so much for. I don't think you guys are understanding what I'm saying...

Resistence got a 9.1 from IGN, and they (meaning Jeremy Dunham) called it PS3's killer app (even to the point of bashing 360 for taking a year to get Gears of War). While I'm not much into FPS, that's a good sign to say the least.

Genji 1 also got poor/mediocre reviews. I still loved it dearly. ALso, 2 looks almost exactly like Genji 1. I know I'll like it.

Journalists should NE-VER bash another system in a review. That just shows clear bias and makes me feel the review is too biased to be taken into account.
Also, Gears of War may have taken a year, but from the sounds of it, it was more than worth the year-long wait.

Well maybe saying bashing is a bit to far, taking a swipe may be more like it. The point is that from the sounds of things Resistence at the very least doesn't suck and at least in their view is a game worth going out and buying the system for (basically what killer application means). Not sure how well I'll like it though (only FPS games I like are UT series), I'll have to wait and see.

I envy you, I REALLY want Resistance. The gameplay sounds less innovative and unique than GoW, but the weapons and online setup sound amazing.
Though I have to wonder which enemy designs came first, GoW's or Resistance's? Some of the enemies look nearly identical.

I don't know, but I DO KNOW that I can't wait to have both the powerhouse systems side by side. I'm really content with the 360 for now, but by mid 2007 I plan on splurging for the ps3. Being the FPS fan that I am, I am really excited for Resistance. It just sucks that I have to wait to play it. Good thing I have Gears Of War, Call OF Duty 3, and Rainbow Six Vegas to hold me over till then, not to mention a few more titles coming out the beginning of next year too.
Oh, and being a person who hasn't had any recent problems with my 360, I am more than happy for what it's bringing to the table right now. I am just going to rejoice when I have the ps3 at hand as well.

God, if you buy the systme just to play Resistance, it'll be a more expensive investment than Steel Batallion. It must be damn good if it's that good.

No one will buy the PS3 JUST to play Resistance. But they WILL buy it for Resistance AND the hundreds of other good games which are also coming out on the PS3.

Haha, exactly. I kind of plan on getting a few more games too.
