Thanks Realm. You also rock the sox. Even when we disagree on something I have strong opinions on, like religion, I still love and respect you.

get a room, guys!

and i agree with Realm, it's sad when people use religion for their own means. Hell, whenever you bring 2 religions(or religion and state) together, it's a conflict just waiting to occur.

That's why, I propose we all follow one...
.....
.....the Prime Deity
.....the John Wayne of West Point
....and the fucking GOD of Little Sweden, REALM!

I'm probably going to watch this film purely because it looks like it might be so very bad that it'll be funny. The book was poorly written, and modern cinema mostly sucks so my hopes aren't high.

Oddly, in the UK, there has been programme after programme on the TV going into the ideas behind the story of the book (pretty much all of which were ripped off earlier research that had been debunked by the majority of scholars). Not really sure why everyone is so interested in the ideas since none of them are new, but I guess a little media attention goes a long way.

Personally, much as I like the idea of conspiracies, I can't get excited about any of it because I regard formalised religion as being mostly a bad thing. Having been raised as a pretty strict Catholic, then spending years looking for something to replace that belief system, I finally figured out that nobody has the answers and that it's the questions that make life interesting anyway. I usually describe myself as a Buddhist these days just to shut people up, and because it's more about a way of living than a true religion anyway since it encourages you to think and to be honest with yourself and with others.

People do a lot of bad things in the name of their god and their country... it's not something I've ever really understood.

quoted for truth. i can't stand when people don't realize that, all but a few forms of buddhism aren't religions.
