I think Steven Blum will do a decent job. Under David Lucas, he plays Mugen in Samurai Champloo. Throw his voice a bit deeper and act a little moody and I think he'd do a good voice; much like he played as Zabuza in Naruto or Shishio in Rurouni Kenshin (both deep-voice bad guys).

Toshiyuki Morikawa is actually one of the most popular bad guy voice in Japan. That microphone loves his naturally deep voice, and he just makes the perfect bad guy. He was a PERFECT Sephiroth (in my honest opinion) and I wouldn't have had any other voice. I've heard him as a good guy too! He's just... good -- one of Japan's best.

Which is why I'm so very thankful Paul Dobson isn't Sephiroth's English voice. Nothing against the guy, he's decent among the "middle-class" voices, but just not Sephiroth material. He plays a much better good guy.

If the list is wrong then take it up with IMDB. :P

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0385700/fullcredits

Where did your list come from?

Several sites. Among them "1UP" and "Anime News Network", my two most trusted sites and sources.

Even 1UP admits that their list is "anonymous", both 1UP and ANN are known for their inside sources even if they don't say anything. Neither of them have been wrong yet, and I'd be willing to sacrific my left and right testicles they're not wrong now.

I'll take sites run by anime fanatics and frequented by anime fanatics over IMDB any day. I also don't like IMDB because I believe it to be run by crack whores... Take what you will.

Every place that voice actor list is posted its credited to 1up. That's the sole source of that info, and they don't say who they got it from.

Granted, they're probably right, but there were still more tactful ways of presenting that information than just flatly stating that I'm wrong.

Gomen. I didn't actually mean myself to sound like an ass. I was just so disgusted at the list provided by IMDB I wasn't thinking straight. :P I just pray(ed) with all my heart and soul that you ARE wrong; no offense was intended with any of my posts.

Needless to say, my testicles are praying to the great Phallus as well.

No problem, I know I'm too sensitive. ^_^

I like 1up's list better too, except I would've chosen someone other than Crispin Freeman for Rude. Rude just needs a deeper voice. Its the same problem I had with his Alucard in the Hellsing dub. :P

And George Newbern as Sephiroth. I really find it hard to believe the voice of Superman can be menacing enough.

And Steve Blum and Beau Billingslea are great and all, but I've just heard both of their voices SO MUCH. Heresy, I know.

I'll just have to wait and see I guess. I think I've been spoiled by the awesomeness of the Japanese dub though.

I personally would much rather they just give us the Japanese version, its probably much better than hearing a dubbed version, and they better not translate or cut the song "Calling" from the little credits movie at the end, that song is awesome and I hope it isn't messed with.

Kyosuke Himuro, the singer (and I think writer) of Calling speaks English, if I remember right. They might do an English version of the song. AnimeNation reports the DVD coming with both English and Japanese audio tracks, so we'll have it either way (unless they're mistaken).

You've been spoiled by the Japanese dub? I own the Japanese DVD. Special Edition version. Now THAT'S spoiled.

... And probably why I care only 80% about the dub list. Which is bad, I know. I'm ashamed of myself.

yeah dude, I watched it, no subs either, so I don't know the full story line, but I have a really good idea because watching it is 1/2 of it.

Is there a big difference in terms of content between what the english version is going to have and what the Japanese version already does?

becuase I may (if i get a chance to do so) buy the Japanese DVD as well.

like could you give a small review/ list of whats on the Japanese version?

The Japanese DVD comes with previews to Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Meaning you have trailers of "Before Crisis", "Crisis Core", Advent Children itself, and "Dirge of Cerberus". It's sad that they didn't include the remake of the Final Fantasy VII introduction for the PS3 (that [bullshit]"technical demo"[/bullshit]).

That's about it for extra features besides the movie itself. There are no English subs and it's been confirmed that the "Last Order: Final Fantasy VII" anime will not be included in the English special edition. This anime can only be found online or in the Japanese Ultimate Edition of the movie (currently sold out and no longer in production).

The special edition of the movie comes with a cool case. That's it. The Ultimate Edition has all the goodies and I didn't have $360 to spare.

ahh, alright, thank you very much Zephie. Yeah $360 is an assload, I have Last Order saved on my computer, its a really awesome anime take on what happened in Nibelheim. Anyone who hasn't seen it and gets the DVD is in for a treat, even if you aren't a big fan of anime, you will like last order.
