Yea I know that its the companys bringing them over. Another thing...do these companies have like 6 voice actors...I swear I can tell you two others shows that the most the voice actors are in.

Like FUNimation, you can hear many of the same voice actors in all their shows.
Just wondering...I haven't watched the American dub of Fullmetal Alchemist. How are the voice overs?

The voice actors for FMA are, actually, suprisingly okay. I mean, they're certainly not Cowboy Bebop (CB is, in my opinion, the best English dub to exist), but they're still good. I was actually impressed at that fact (hard to do).
I second Verence on the fact that Adult Swim/Toonami have no control about what the voice actors are like. However, Adult Swim/Toonami ARE the ones responsible for (usually) cutting things, requesting that curses be overdubbed (ie. the actors say something "less mellow" for the censored TV version), and edit out blood, etc.
Complain specifically about the company that holds the license for the English version of the anime (in the case of this thread, VIZ) when you offer your opinion about bad (or good, for that matter) voice actors so that no one will get confused...

In a stunning announcement, Viz/ShoPro Entertainment revealed its plans to sell the the North American television, home video, and merchandising rights to Naruto back to it original licensors, TV Tokyo and Shueisha Inc.
"We began to feel uncomfortable with the idea of making piles of cash from the show," a Viz representative told ANN. "After several parent advocacy groups showed us the error of our ways, we felt it was the only logical decision."
ANN also contacted Cartoon Network, which had planned to broadcast Naruto later this year.
"Thank God, I can use my mailbox again," said an executive VP at the network. "Within minutes of our broadcast announcement, we were flooded with thousands of e-mails claiming to be from enraged mothers."
"They were all the same. 'Naruto Uzumaki, he's a mischievous little brat!' 'By choosing to broadcast this show, you are directly responsible for the moral decline of our country's youth.' They said I would rot in hell, and that my family would face eternal damnation if I allowed Naruto to reach American airwaves."
When asked how this would impact their licensing plans for 2005, the Viz representative gave another stunning response. "With California's new stem cell initiative and the breakthroughs at Johns Hopkins in placing human stem cells in rats, we asked ourselves: why not hamsters? Imagine, a real-life talking hamster! That would shut up all those folks who keep mocking Hamtaro."

NOTE: For purposes even unknown to me, I will be using the characters' full names, only once, when I mention them in my personal rant below... I think it's the fact that I've been writing my book for an hour straight and I'm in the "snyopsis" mood.
Steven Blum, who is most known as "Spike Spiegel" from Cowboy Bebop, revealed at his ACEN panel, on the 15th of May, that he is part of the cast of Naruto, which is set to premiere on Cartoon Network in Fall. Currently, the public doesn't know what character he'll be playing, or if he'll also be doing a script adaption as he did for ShoPro Entertainment (now VIZ Media) on MegaMan NT Warrior.
"As of now he is the only member of the Naruto USA team that is known, this should be interesting!" says SaiyaMan, and I have to full-heartedly agree!
It is my personal belief, that if he is a character, that he'll probably be playing one of two people: The first, which I believe to be closer to the truth, would be Hatake Kakashi. My second guess, but also a very likely choice, would be Orochimaru. These two characters of the series best suit the overall style he brings to anime in general. I hope I'm right, it would be a shame to deprive both of these characters of his voice!
Somehow I just don't see him playing Uzumaki Naruto, or any of the kids, with the exception of Uchiha Sasuke, but even that would be pushing the limits of his abilities... but I can see it in a long-shot. It is also possible that he could be playing Uchiha Itachi, but I'd prefer to hear him in a more earlier and more active role.
EDIT: ANN states on their Naruto page that Steven Blum is indeed the Script Adaptor for Naruto. Whether or not he may play a voice is still unknown, but I'd have to say he will. I can't believe that he won't.

Yeah, Naruto will premeiere in Fall. This probably means somewhere around the month of August if I were to select a general time frame.
As for MegaMan, Steven Blum is the Script Adaptor for the Kids WB's "MegaMan NT Warrior" which is now on its third season, titled "MegaMan NT Warrior: AXESS" -- the newest episode being episode 14 (episode 70 if you count the first two seasons). It's a rather nice series, and I'm proud that Steven Blum is doing as well as he is considering that MegaMan NT Warrior is his first crack at that type of job.
In case no one has a clue, which would be a crying shame, MegaMan NT Warrior is loosely based on the GBA games, "MegaMan Battle Network". In Japan, both the anime and games are called "RockMan.EXE", which is still going strong with its newest RockMan.EXE 5 (VG) and RockMan.EXE STREAM (anime, season 5)

He'll be Kakashi, he has to be.
I guess the Toonami Naruto will have to be less of a travesty than One Piece now. Whether it will actually be GOOD remains to be seen.

There are several characters I could see him as....definetely not one of the kids. OF the major character...Orochimaru, Kakashi, Kabuto. Some minor characters (of which he wont play but could fit) the 1st Chuunin exam instructor (I forget his name), Dosu, Zaku, Guy, Pak-kun (Kasashi's talking dog).....now that I think about it, this is pointless. Unfortunetaly...I dont know of any children voices that do English anime well so it might matter since the actors for the kids are the most important. They would need a HUGE emotional range. Especially for Sakura, since she goes from the crazy inner Sakura to totally breaking down in the later episodes.
If you didnt read or understand that...basically it says that I dont know whats happening and my hopes arent very high for this dub anyway. It doesnt matter though...I watch good fansubs and my Japanese is getting better everyday.
EDIT: I happened to see a Naruto clip on American TV today (6/3). It was on Cartoon Networks "Showing the new shows for the Summer" Show. Unfortunetaly no voices were played. The only voice work was Naruto screaming (it was obviously still his Japanese VA). Although the Host pronounced Naruto: Na-rU-toe. In the Japenese show its pronounced: Nar-U-toe. Its a small difference but this is one of my favorite animes its worth mentioning. I didnt get an air date but will see whats happens when the comes out.

Indeed, I saw that commercial as well. Unfortunately I slept through Toonami once again Saturday night, but all is well. I still have Thursday.
At any rate, I agree that it was the Japanese seiyuu and not an English dubbed scream, probably because they didn't want any of the voices to be revealed to those waiting ot see. At least that's my thought on the matter.
I don't have much high hopes for the dub either, but I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that at least the better voice actors and actresses will be taking part at one time or another. It's all we can do at this junction in time...
If nothing else, I hope that the DVDs are uncut and include all original material (such as the use of the Angle feature that I adore so much).

Viz has provided ANN with the proper cast list of the English Naruto dub! Not what I expected, but certainly kick ass nonetheless:
Kate Higgins as Sakura
Maile Flanagan as Naruto
Yuri Lowenthal as Sasuke
Dave Wittenberg as Kakashi
Stephanie Sheh as Hinata Hyuuga
Cindy Robinson as Tsunami
Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Ino Yamanaka & Konohamaru
Doug Ehrholtz as Asuma
Fred Tatasciore as Gato
Kirk Thornton as Tazuna
Quinton Flynn as Iruka
Robbie Rist as Choji
Steve Kramer as Hokage
Steven Blum as Zabuza
Tom Gibbas as Shikamaru
Just for those wondering, "Tsunami", is the English dub name for Tsunade-sama. Gotta love the fucking dub, eh? The only big-breasted woman is the series that can actually fight/kick serious ass, and they name her "Tsunami"... Fuck. I hope it's just a typo.

Whoo! Naruto premieres on Cartoon Network at 9:00PM EST on September 10th! Sweetness. I can't wait to see how they a) fucked it up, or b) did a good job with it.

They are already showing commercials for it too.
