I'll have to go and check out those vids. I've been a strong supporter of Sega's football for since NFL 2K1. Every year I don't have any offline comp. Online is fun, WHEN SOMEONE ACCEPTS A GAME!!! I try to play ranked games, but nobody will take on a guy with a 1-1 record. If I do play a game, it's usually an unranked game.

I see people just waiting around, so I challenge them, and they always decline. Navigating the lobby to just get a game is frustrating at times. Still, I love the game. So when does ESPN NFL 2K5 come out?

My problems with last years edition:

The running animation has got to GO!!! They've been using it since 99' get a more real looking one. They add hundreds of animations each year, why not update that one?

The AI will follow instead of cut you off. I've had more than my fair share of kickoff returns so successful just by running sideways to get the cpu to follow me, which in turn opens up my gap upfield. It's ALMOST like gameday AI.

Also, why does the computer automatically adjust as soon as I call an audible? That's not real!!!

Still, I love Sega's football, the running game is just awesome, and the passing game does just fine as well. I'm undecided which way I'll go this year. We have a lot of Madden tournaments down here and ZERO ESPN tournaments.
I'll be damned if I ever get beat by a button masher!!!

it's official, Game Informer has voted for ESPN 2k5 over Madden as the superior game this season. Check out the new GI with the Splinter Cell Chaos Theory cover.

Saw the vids, saw the low price, saw the release date, I'm no longer on the fence. I'm on with ESPN and Sega for yet ANOTHER year!!! Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to get $20, cuz I am THAT poor right now.

Sorry, that was me.... I mean, that's who the hell I am :)

Didn't realize I could do random guest posts, it's been a while since I've done that, just assumed I was logged in. Meant to say it was me after seeing the post, but I thought it would ...... I'm lazy!

Anyway, the point at which both EA and Sega are at, it's a matter of preference. Madden is no slouch by any means, it's actually a very good game, and even better for those who swear by it. I just wish Madden players would give Sega its due, cuz Sega's came is just as good, if not a little BETTER IMO.

My friend is a big time Madden player. I got him to sit down and play a game. He played, but he didn't like the camera angle and said he couldn't get an angle when he wanted to tackle. I had to make him play it cuz he always makes me play Madden at his place and destroys me cuz I can't close in to tackle on Madden. They make it look so fluid, but I can't move in that game. For me, it's ESPN, and I hope this early release and low price brings in more ESPN fans. It's already got me on board.

My local Best Buy sucks. They didn't get it on the 21st and still didn't have it yesterday on the 22nd. I'd get it somewhere else, but that's the only place I have enough credit to buy it right now. I want this game oh so bad!!!

Well, this is absolutely the finest version of ESPN NFL to date, as it should be. This game just rocks man. The animations are even better this year. The defensive hot routes, the killer halftime show, more fan animations and cinemas, it just rocks man.

The running animation still bugs me, but not as much. The realistic replays are SO much better this year. I love that halftime show. I've had some killer highlights and some very good games in my season. Too bad Bledsoe had a horrible year last year and it shows with his accuracy on this years version. The D is top notch for Buffalo.

The custom soundtrack, which can take a little while if you don't have the tracks you want on your Xbox yet, is well worth the efforts. I've put on some select tunes and I have to say, it's pretty dang cool hearing my own custom tunes after a sack, td, kickoff, etc. You can have one for dang near everything and anything you want, offensive and defensive.

The VIP system is awesome. Playing against myself, I had to really get rid of the ball with all my blitzing that I do. It gets pretty fun.

Finally, thank you Sega for releasing an updated sports game for $20, all of them!!! It's about time someone did that. Sports games are just not worth $50 every single year when all you really get are a few minor upgrades and tweaks, and some roster changes. It's still basically the same game, same plays, same graphics, all that jazz. They should only cost $20 to upgrade.

Awesome amazing game. I even had them switch out Madden for ESPN at my local best buy. I work there now, part time. Discounts rock!!!

What the? It's just like hot routes on offense, no biggie. The REAL geeks do that franchise mode and tweak everything from salaries to stadium hot dog prices on Madden. Not me baby!!! With my two jobs, wife, and daughter, I'm lucky if I get in a few hours of gaming a week. I usually play my NFL stuff after my wife goes to bed.

Web, you ain't kidding. I've got a Madden fanboy friend who is hooked on franchise mode, he won't put it down.
I don't play many sports games, but I bet if I wanted to play football and sell hot dogs I could get NFL 2K5 and Sim Theme Park for less than the price of Madden.
