I don't know if this was made clear so I'll bring up some of the finer points of the DS:

1. It has internet play. You don't need to wait for N5, DS has it now. 802.11b. Your wireless router at home, or a hotspot like in a coffee shop or something, will allow you to play DS games online.

2. I don't remember the PSP having an erp of $500. I thought the guess was $300, and there's the distinct possibility Sony will sell it at a loss to come closer to the DS price point. This does not of course make up for the fact that DS >>>> PSP, but $500 is pretty dumb even for Sony.

3. Sleep/wake up mode. The DS has a "wake up" feature that can allow it to be turned on/make a sound/whatever when it comes in range of the wireless signal of another DS. Makes it easy to jump in on network games going on anywhere, even if you don't know the people who are playing.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I didn't know about the sleep and alert functions. It seems they've pretty much thought of everything with the DS.

They have some smart fuckers working at Nintendo, who listen to what people want. It pays off.

Looks like Rare might be making DS games. I don't get it, but whatever, as long as it's not Grabbed By Ghoulies.

She, said that they had smart fuckers at nintendo, who listen to what people want. And that it pays off.

I am just wondering what they do, that no one else does, that pays off so much.

BTW i'm not nintendo bashing....i just thing some of you are a litle eager to accept what nintendo is putting out.

nintendo did do at least one smart thing that i can think of. they STOLE resident evil.....ohhh...i'm still miffed about that.

What i don't like is that they said mario would never kill hookers. I gotta tell ya. thats a real dissapointment. becouse i think a game where mario did little else, would make some serious bank.

Mario doesn't kill hookers cause he kills Goombas and Koopa Troopas instead. If he killed hookers, it really wouldn't be a Mario game. They would probably make money off of a hooker-killing Mario game but I don't think they're going do away with their credibility, integrity and legacy just to get a few more bucks. Yes, Nintendo is a company and they're here to make money, but they don't forget about the game, and most of all, the fun. Anyways, how would a hooker-killing Mario game work? People would complain that it's too cartoony and not realistic enough. Plus, it'd be a rip off of GTA and hooker-killing games would start to become a fad.

Never been impressed by a controller? Nintendo invented the design that is still used today.. or the analog stick.. or the first true 3d action game (Mario 64,) first use of rumble, first side-scroller, first game with an ending, first portable system, first console saving system, and now no line gaming with the DS.

I could go on and on all day with the stuff they've invented for the industry, but I'll stop with those.

yeah, man, without Nintendo, there'd be no gaming industry worth talking about right now.

I remember when Mario and Zelda first came out, along with MT Punch out. They captured imaginations and if you hum the theme song, odds are someone will join you within 20 seconds. All Sony has done is become the NY Yankees of video games. When Square threw their temper tantrum over N64's medium, Sony buys them. Sony buys Rockstar into an exclusive contract because they see that even the prelim builds of GTA 3 on Xbox were superior to PS2's choppiness. Sony has been shortsighted, and while the X came with its built in Broadband, Multiplayer, and Hard Drive, Sony has forced gamers to spend, spend, spend on extra peripherals. Not to mention the system's infrastructure has been again ungracefully since like a year after its existence.

I would like Sony a lot more if they stopped gouging its fanbase of its money. They own 90% of the electronics in the world anyway, so making a feasible system shouldn't be an issue of pricing for them. that's all i have to say now.

Whats the list of stuf you need for crystal cronicals? Does gamecube even use their online stuff? i know they have it, and i'm sure there's a decent amount of stuff out for it, but all i rember is PSO. That conroller is made for little kids, and sometimes just hurts.
Resident Evil can be frustraiting to play with notches in your analog. THe Z butt just hurts if you don't push it down in the right spot. And this isn't nintendos fault at all...but I always try and click the C-pad, like it was an R3(sony) or R2(box)...that lil' thing just won't give in.
I do really really really really like the wave bird though. That little thing rocks. If only i could reconfigure the trigger buttons, and joysticks, I'd use it for everything. :D
And game cube games just generally cost MORE than PS2 and Xbox i belive....isn't that gouging or taking from the costomer or whatever?
Why the little discs? As i understand it, the MAIN reason for making the discs, not the basic size was for piracy concerns. But why so much smaller? Is it the same reason as why they kept cartriges for so long? Becouse they were the only ones who make them and game companies were forced to buy in bulk is they wanted to ship a agame. Not only that but they are so much smaller that they require two discs, and they now have to buy literally twice as much for the same thing? And then write on the cover of the ame "Two Discs!" when it dosn't even = 1 DVD.
The Cube is well made though...it looks like it could take a beating. And i never hear about anyones messing up or crapping out. That MIGHT be becouse i only know like 10 who own one and.....1 person who plays it relatively frequintly... I think you guys just look for something differnt in games than i do. Not that i think that's bad or anything. But nintendo seems like the type, to just make something totaly off from curent games, and tell you to just trust them, it's fun. I really like my games to be like a movie. nto hat i just watch and it doe sall the work or anything. just that...movies arn't mini games. And they arn't cell shaded...we'll not like zelda was anyways... they arn't all interesting becouse they are quarky. They are more like...killing hookers, killing zombies, killing criminals, blowing this up, blowing that up, sneak around, hunt down some one, make a bomb, kill some more hookers, play tricks on people like putting a bomb in their car, hiding bodies, running from the police, killing the police, and putting bombs in the policeman's car.
Magical boats just arn't my bag...and using mario for everything, or some variation of him.
Why didnt' they ever make a good pokemon game? that always kinda urked me. The game boy game i thought was good. entertaining, differnt, and portable...but they never made it for a console...they made..pokemon stadium, wich was just wierd. Pokemon snap, hey pikachu and probably some other stuff. Too busy making more mario. And majora's mask.
