HALO 2 - BUNGIE SAYS FALL '04!?!

Post by Mothergoat »

Wow. This better be the best game of all time. That is going to be 3 years after Halo 1. Bungie also posted the first ever screenshot of a multiplayer map. Must say I wasn't bowled over. It looks good, but not "holycrapthisisthebestgameever" 'kickass' as Frankie of Bungie put it.

Not to say Halo 2 won't rule...but wow.

Yeah the screenshot looks okay. But it's really plain. I guess it's their secretive thing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to this game as well, but I find it very amusing watching Jack squirm.

I just know every time a new pushed-back date gets rumored or announced in this case, you squirm with impatient discomfort. Don't try to deny it. :P

I shall avoid trolling this time....

But seriously, I do wish it would come to the PC too.

Halo 2

Post by Reaper »

:sniper:
Halo 2 is supposed to come out in April of 2004. Now I'm hearin all this crap about moving the date to September or October. Everyone knows that the game producers have this game in some warehouse somehere, and their just making us anxious. They know everyone is waiting for this game. This game is going to be the greatest game ever. Of you liked Halo 1 then this game will be the a god to you. I just hope they put it out soon.
Operation: Soul Reaper
From the shadows, comes a warrior set out on a journey destined to kill him, or make him great.

The official word from Bungie is Fall '04. They don't have them in warehouses anywhere. In fact, I can personally tell you that Bungie is hard at work getting Halo 2 to be the best it can be by the time it comes out this fall. If you want some weekly updates, you can always check out Bungie.net and see Frankie's weekly updates, which talk about all of the work that Bungie is doing each week....along with how much they're slacking off.

The april 2004 date was simply speculation, and I don't know about you, but I'll believe the word straight from Bungie's mouth rather than what EBGames.com or IGN tells me.

And oh yeah, Siege. I'm gonna bet that you never see Halo 2 on PC...Microsoft and Bungie both know that this is gonna be THE game for Xbox and Xbox Live, and if they want to get more people hooked on the Xbox, they have to make sure that people that say "I'll just wait for the PC version," don't get that chance.

I don't know if you've been following the soap opera drama between Bungie/Microsoft and Gearbox, but the Halo PC patching process has been a nightmare. Competitions and leagues once excited about Halo PC are dropping it like flies because of the performance issues.

But it's not Gearbox's fault.

Microsoft wants full control over testing. Problem is, the same people who test Halo PC patches (and the editing kit) are the same people who are testing HAlo 2 for Xbox. Now which one do YOU think gets priority?

Gearbox has had the premium update patch and Editing Kit ready forever...but Microsoft is dragging their feet while angry HPC players are idiotically blaming Gearbox.

Bungie and Microsoft need to let go a bit and trust Gearbox that their testing is good enough...which it is.

See? This is why you won't see Halo 2 for PC unless Microsoft loosens up a bit.
Feel happy. Pee.

Gearbox has a hell of a good track record, what the fuck is the matter with M$? "M$"- I might have just answered my own question. Poor performance, might be Gearbox's fault, might just be cause it's a port, will we ever know?

Well, Microsoft also likes to release patches in bundles, instead of separate...which is also stupid.

"You know that one glitch that makes ATI drivers crash the game? Well we fixed it but we have to wait until we add more features and updates to make a 'bundle'"

Bah!
