I hope that Lord Of The Rings finally wins best picture. I heard that Lost In Translation was awesome. I'll have to get that one on DVD next week. Glad to see that American Splendor was nominated for something. That was definately one of my favorites of the year. I'm disapointed but not suprised to not see Kill Bill anywhere.

LOTR winning best picture isn't as important to me as Peter Jackson winning best director. Two years ago it was Ron Howard (who earned it, A Beautiful Mind was incredible), last year Pete wasn't even NOMINATED. I was so pissed. He deserves it more than anybody this year.

One thing to always keep in mind though: the people who make these decisions are dipshits. A lot of it is political. Don't take the Oscars too seriously.

The oscars bring back the fond memory of when the movie theatre I work at would put on a special event for the oscars we would have to test a digital projector out the night before. . . what better way to do that than my playing PS2 (it wasn't even a year old at the time) on the theatre's screen. That was the biggest game of Madden I have ever played.
