How well do you like the Xbox?
The Microsoft Xbox is the best system ever...
..........for me TO POOP ON!!!
Seriously, I KEED!
I love this system, especially since I bought S video cables. now the graphics are one notch below HDTV. My main complaint is the lack of franchise adventure/RPG games. I want a Final Fantasy type game for the X. As it stands, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Pandora and H2 are going to push the envelope further than Madonna and Britney on the VMA's, ya feel me?
and for the people complaining about the controller, I think the big one was annoying. My hands would be spasming after playing Amped for more than 10 minutes.
But heck, NO controller will ever match THIS: http://www.80stees.com/products/Nintend ... -shirt.asp

2 points :
1. You can purchase that shirt at many EB Games across the country, as they have began to delve into the hotness of Video Game Shirts.
2. Keep an eye out for the "RetroCON" by MadCatz. There is one for PS2 already, and it looks pimp. Has all the features of a PS2 controller and same size and feel of the 8bit controller. Bonus: the buttons light up. If the buttons lighting up doesn't fascinate you, I don't know what will.

I wish more places would start selling t-shirts. Shirts of the actual games, like music bands do. You see people wearing Slipknot and Korn and Tool t-shirts all the time, they really otta make video game shirts more accessable. Max Payne, Hitman 2, Unreal Tournament. Fuck, even Halo! I'd wear them! It should just be standard fare at games-and-music-places in the malls.phylof wrote:You can purchase that shirt at many EB Games across the country, as they have began to delve into the hotness of Video Game Shirts.
I have spoken.

Finally found what you were talking about. Is this it? I've never seen it before. Looks cool, but nothing yet beats mouse-and-keyboard.Fuzzy P. wrote:has anyone used that contoller for the xbox that is suppose to be the best fps controller ever

Maybe I'm not a true gamer, but ever since GoldenEye for N64, it takes games on that level to keep my interest for more than a week. I like RPGs, but I get bored with them after about 60 hours of actual game time.
XBox is by far and away the only game system in existance as far as I'm concerned because of it's dedication to multiplayer, via 4 controller ports, and system link/XBox LIVE capabilities. Multiplayer, especially FPS like HALO, is the only reason I consider myself a gamer, and the other two systems just don't deliver. Seriously, how can you take playstation seriously with only two controller ports? I imagine fat/nerdy junior high japanese kids locked in their rooms playing RPGs all alone all weekend when I think of playstation. I have a Cube that i haven't played in a year and a half. Monkeyball is kinda fun when you're not sober, but I still didn't go out and buy it. I guess I hope that someone can convince me to play a game other than Halo, and it just hasn't happened. Splinter Cell/Metal Gear bore me to tears, and like i said, i lose interest in RPGs quickly, though i'm hoping that some of those new ones in the works for XBox will get me going. Project Gotham is great, but again, I got a little over half way through it and can't find a reason to play it again.
Halo is a sport now, and that is a huge accomplishment for a console in my uneducated opinion. Halo is on Xbox. In my opinion, worth the $450 + i've invested in the console for this game alone.

I think Nintindo would be good if they would stop pissing me off.
There controller is made for an infant. It makes trying to play games very, awkward. I have a permenent "c" shape in my thumb from trying to hit what would be the R3 button(PS) or R2(XB), the Z button hurts my finger becouse for some reason it is a weird trigger that if you push down on the left side it dosn't move.....
And the notches...the NOTCHES! I loath the notches, everything else is just a little pet peve(never tried to spell peve before, could be wrong).
The stole resident evil in an attemt to make their system appeal to more adult audiances, but the notches ruin it. I love the remake of RE:1, but the notches couse me to grind into the walls while i run down hallways. That isn't scary.
The game boy pisses me off becouse, while it is a good system. I personaly belive it should be much better by now. They just keep nudging it along, collecting 100 bucks from the parents of little kids once every year or two.
I said that before, and some one said sony was the same, in that they don't put out what they can, just what people will buy. I can understand the logic there, but sony has made like 2 consoles ever. How many versoions of game boy have came out SINCE the PS1? 2 many, for not having made decent strides with them.
I have no problem with nintendo, but all they do is piss me off.
X box i like allright, I like the multiplayer and connectivity of it. I don't acctually own one though, becouse there are no games that i NEED to play on it....alot of allright stuff(for me, not that there arn't great games, just not MY cup o' tea)..i don't like the new S-Type controllers as much though....if they'd move the black and white buttons and the start and select buttons to a more accesseable space though, i'd be plenty happy.
Playstation I like, becouse i HAVE one and play it all the time, and they have an ass ton of really fun, cheap games...such as...Resident evil: CVX, Devil May Cry, Dynasty Warriors, Amplitude, FFX, Dark Cloud, Metal Gear 2, Twisted Metal, and a bunch of others, plus it plays my 40 other favorites from PS1(not fair to the other systems to hold that against them though.) The controller i like alot, but it is what i use more than anything, so i might just be used to it. ALot of ppl complain about the analog sticks being too close to eachother, or in an awkward spot...maybe, analog is big enuff now that switiching the left one with the pad might be a good move....
thats it, hope you aren't pissed that i wrote so much stuff that was uninteresting and now you have wasted all your time.

Ok, do you have any clue how much more advanced the GBA is over the GB or the GBC? Especially the GBASP? The cartridges have their own friggin microprocessors, for God's sake. The graphics are at least 4 times as good as the GB; technically, it's 32-bit, which means it has the graphical power of the PS1 given the right chips on the cartridge. Going from the crappy little 8-bit 4-shade screen to the graphical power of a recent-gen system is a pretty big leap, wouldn't you say?Cable wrote:I said that before, and some one said sony was the same, in that they don't put out what they can, just what people will buy. Before I give my current opinion, I'll set things up a little. When I first heard about the XBox I was skeptical and a little annoyed. Oh great, Microsoft's trying to dominate another market. Then launch came and I wanted one just because I thought it would tank and it would be interesting to have. My friend then got one with Halo. After playing this game I shut up pretty quick. It was definitely worth playing, but I wondered it Microsoft would get more titles like this. I finally got one a year or so ago, and I don't regret it at all.
At first I thought it was just a PC made to play on a TV screen. It's not quite the case though. The hard drive is actually a very nice addition. I love never having to worry about space and buying memory cards. Plus it's always fun to play games to your own music.
I liked the idea of XBox Live but I wondered how well it would be executed. I also worried that this would opent he Xbox market to lots of patching games. Again I had no reason to worry. I still don't have XBox Live, but I would really consider it if I had more money and a few more games to play online. I'd love to practice for the Ninja Gaiden tournament.
Microsoft has really surprised me so far. The console is mostly solid. I've had a couple loading and disc read problems every now and again. But they're actually doing quite well. The other cool thing is all the RPG's coming for the system. I've generally hated the traditional RPG's like the Final Fantasy's, or as I call them, Menu Fantasy. I hate menu based combat and randomly determining how much, if at all, you hit your opponent. It just seems weird to see a guy run across the screen for one hit and then run back... Anyway. I'm liking all the realtime RPG's that are coming to the XBox this year. Fable looks amazing, and looks to be everything I'd want in an RPG and then some if it turns out like it's supposed to. Jade Empire looks sweet too. Sundeki also looks really good although I don't know quite as much about that one.
Nintendo is still great, and I think the industry needs them. They always come up with a cool new game or system idea, and usually they're good ideas. I'm curious about the DS, but I truely think I'd be happy with my SP for a very long time. The original GB's were cool because I could game on the go. I never got into the GB Colors though. The original GBA was cool and I did own one. But the SP is just everything I really want in a portible for now. And it's a great thing to have the 16 bit 2D games back. I love the Castlevania series on the system. If the Punchout series would just come to the system I'd be in heaven. River City Ransom is coming next month, and I can't wait.
Nintendo just really needs to get some support again, especially after this past week's news. They need support, and to release more titles. They also need a better ad system. Some are quite good, but some, the Sunshine ads, were just aweful. Like Break, I want the next console war to be between Microsoft and Nintendo.
I'm not a big fan of Sony. I don't own a PS2, although there are few games I'd like to have and play that aren't on other systems. Most at least are coming to the XBox though now. I could really care less about the FF and other similar RPG's of that sort, which is the main draw for people. The GTA series is now on the PC and SBox. And I probably won't get a PS2 until I can find it for under $100. With everyone I see getting disc read errors, other problems, and the crappy DVD playback, I just don't see the need for owning one, and I wonder why everyone keeps flocking to the system despite Nitendo and Microsoft have a much better console. I really like Break's statement that the reason Sony's selling so many systems is because everyone has to keep buying replacements to the ones that break.
Oh, and despite my liking for the XBox I still spell Microsoft with a $.
