Well, I generally enjoy using big rocks and the occasional person to snipe behind from, I don't know about the rest of you folks.

Are you talking about certain levels, or just general good sniping tactics? :?

A snipers best tactic, in real life, would to be camouflaged. But in Halo, master chief does not really blend with anything, so your best bet would to be the first to shoot. But to shoot first you must not be seen so, make yourself very hard to see. (example: crouch next to a rock or other cover and make it so only your gun is visible, but enough you can see too.) After shooting or killing someone, relocate, find a new spot that is that is either far away or aiming at the spot where you were, people might go to that spot where you killed someone.

Side Note: The hardest type of sniping is sniper vs. sniper, basically that is which one finds the other first.(that is what i think)

And yes "Meat Shields" can come in handy. :)

i guess meat sheild would work fine  but for sniper vs. sniper... dont let it become sniper vs. sniper.... or just kill them when they get the rifle... i love the sniping spot i have  its jus tthe little hole in the ground by blue base... or if you can get up there 1000 feet above the level

What map?

Sniping has its place, I use it when I need to. Usually I prefer to be a Warthog whore, more fun. :D The only maps I snipe in much are Blood Gulch and Battle Creek. Blood Gulch just stand on the roof and snipe them as they spawn at the opposite base. It annoying as hell. Battle Creek of course, just stay in the cubbyhole in the cliff or get on the roof of a base.

yeah not letting it become sniper vs. sniper is good, but sometimes that is unavoidable.

I too, am more of a Warthog or other vehicle type person. Or the plain, old rushing. :)

I was talking about that hole in blood gulch... i have a partner stand on top of blue base and be a lure taking shots about an inch away so it looks like it barely missed and then pow i shoot them in the head.... its pretty fun

I always was really aggressive with the sniper rifle. I played Halo after I got done with CS, So I was used to aggressive sniping with the AWP, my advice is play CS for about 2 years and then play halo :-P
