here are few Links that will give the average Joe the opretunities to make games on Cheap Bastard budge of free shit. (pardon my language, it just best describes me)

you guys probly already know about this chunk of code, but i can't give this prog enough love. Its solid, its powerful, and its on free-to-cheap side. the most recent version is kinda shareware-nagware, but i think paying 15 bucks is worth it. but if it still offends you, try the older versions, not as advanced as the lastest version, but still top of the line, none the less.

As much credit and respect as I can give a man that trys to put 3D game creation on the free and easy side,BUT, and notice a big but. Someone needs to give this guy a lesson in interface design. the UI in this system is decent once you get the feel for it, but its jerky and clunky compared to other freeware treasures out ther Ray Game Designer, and Ray Game Designer II are somewhat clumsy to work with, although compact, its broken up in to many places. You have to reinstall the prog for each new game you make makeing it more work that it is worth, almost, i have yet to find another freeware 3D game maker. a few cheap ones, and alot of expensive ones. the Bottom line, go out and get a Copy of DarkBASIC or goto

and spend the fifty buck on it, its solid, lots of options, and its as simple as Qbasic and its DirectX based, so it doesn't specail drivers to be loaded with it. I have a copy and i enjoy it very much when i have the time. (Not to mention they have game creation contests every other month almost, this months prize is a cherry alienware system.)

Now this is a good example of a good start. For those that have dreams of haveing there own MMORPG, this is the place to start. Although it is graphicly limited, it is an all around strong system for game Dev. and "of-course" asolutly free. the whole package is stable and ompact, with nice tutorials on the site for the noobs and an easy to understand scripting based development enviroment. Its one of those things that you can just pick up, do the tutorial and off you go. not to mention the HUGE amount of examples that you can follow. Hell when fanboys across the world have the unspoken contest on who can make the best DBZ fan game, its gottas be easy to work with. PLUS, it supports MONEY!!! You can hook up your PayPal account to it with ease and maybe make a decent chunk of change, nothing thats going get you set for life but something that might help you get that new GBA game thats the buzz right now or something to that effect. its admin and server powers are very sweet, plus you can make WEB games. that right, online web games that the player only needs a browser to play. although it doesn't compile to a stand-alone, its still very easy to distribute.Bottom Line: and exellent way to make multi-player, just needs some better graphics.

excellent start, Keep going with it!

Ok, we all know that its not all about the game makers, its also the media involved. heres my picks for starter progs that are good for general images.

of all the freeware modelers out there, i think this is the most compact, most straight forward, and most complete package available for the freeware revolution. Its pretty basic, it exports and imports the 3DS format.(a fairly common 3D model format). and renders to gif, jpeg, and AVi formats. again fairly common in the world. Over all: everything you need to dig into the 3D modeling scene.

not the best, but a good program all around

all though it requires a registration, but its free. a few chucks of spam is just worth it to get the powerful chucks of software they offer, PhotoPlus is the one i use primarily, i find it is like Photo Shop from way back, plus it beats the hell outta Paint Shop Pro. I find its fairly vercitile and easy to use.Bottom Line: the best you'll get for free

would've been perfect without the spam
