Anillo Rojo de Muerte

Post by Verence »

Numero siete!

Fuck you, Microsoft.

My seventh RROD (NANA, SIETE, VII, семь) and they won't even honor the warranty! They say the three year warranty has expired! NO IT HASN'T! THE XBOX IN QUESTION WAS MADE LESS THAN THREE YEARS AGO! HOW CAN THE THREE YEAR WARRANTY POSSIBLY HAVE EXPIRED?!

Fuck you sideways, Microsoft.

I'm getting as much as I can for my 360 and games, and I'm buying a PS3, god dammit.

Way to lose customers, you stupid fucktards.

I really can't say anything about this that I haven't said.

But, I am sorry for your loss.

What pushes it over the edge from being merely infuriating into being funny is the warranty being expired.

It says right on the Xbox. "Made in June, 2007". And the three year warranty on it has expired? That's funny shit.

I would suggest one final try. This time, demand to speak to the person's supervisor (be prepared to wait 30 minutes or so) and then act really angry and say how many 360 games you've bought and what a loyal customer you've been. You might add that you had an original Xbox with a million games since they won't have any way of checking. Then say that if they won't fix their flawed system that you will sell all your games and buy a Ps3.

I did something similar on my last fuckup. I explained that my ps3 and wii were are all in the same place and have never had a problem. And that if they didn't fix it it was fine as I'd just buy games for my ps3.

I also mentioned the implied warrenty law:
Article 2 of the United States Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) wrote:This warranty will apply to a merchant (that is, a person who makes an occupation of selling things) who regularly deals in the type of merchandise sold.
Under US law, goods are 'merchantable' if they meet the following conditions:
The goods must conform to the standards of the trade as applicable to the contract for sale.
They must fit for the purposes such goods are ordinarily used, even if the buyer ordered them for use otherwise.
They must be uniform as to quality and quantity, within tolerances of the contract for sale.
They must be packed and labeled per the contract for sale.
They must meet the specifications on the package labels, even if not so specified by the contract for sale.
If the merchandise is sold with an express "guarantee", the terms of the implied warranty of merchantability will fill the gaps left by that guarantee. If the terms of the express guarantee are not specified, they will be considered to be the terms of the implied warranty of merchantability. The UCC allows sellers to disclaim the implied warranty of merchantability, provided the disclaimer is made conspicuously and the disclaimer explicitly uses the term "merchantability" in the disclaimer.
A game console in understood to last through the console's life cycle, that is years that the manufacturer is actively marketing and selling products for said console, by the gamer. Or is there any of you out there that thought while buying it, "Hmm, you know this is going to be great in three years and then I would love to buy another one."

The abusive alcoholic boyfriend that we call Microsoft really must be stopped. Since most gamers are unwilling to leave his tyranny, we must at least take them for all that they are worth. Or.. at least what if promised at the point of sale.

I have to agree with Break: try one more time. If nothing else, you'd hate to be out that much money, right? Clearly their phone reps just aren't understanding the system. You need to speak with a native english speaker (a supervisor) that you can reason with. The Microsoft people that are not native English speakers only have enough english skill to tell you 'no' unerringly.

Agreed, as much bullshit as that is, you'll get what you want if you cause a stir. It's just not worth it to them to lose you as a customer. They'll probably send you a new unit in replacement, my guess that is. Hope it works out man, that's bullshit.

Good riddance, I say.

I found my old PSOne in a box in the basement.

I'm playing some Legend of Dragoon! :o

It's been SO LONG that I've forgotten everything! It's like I'm playing it again for the first time!
