Re: This is the WoW Gamer That Has No LIFE!!!
Saw this a while ago. The most ridiculous thing is the subscription fee he pays, and that he's going to take 35 other copies of wrath of the lich king that other people should be getting. This is what will happen to Tholo.
Re: This is the WoW Gamer That Has No LIFE!!!
Tholo already has two accounts that he plays simultaneously, one on his desktop and one on his laptop. In that regard, he is officially more WoW-hardcore than I.
Re: This is the WoW Gamer That Has No LIFE!!!
"It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule," he writes. "Not bad considering I'm looking at it like it's a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft."
Yeah...Including the initial $200 investment I put into my guitar, I have spent no more than $400, maybe $450 on my guitar.
Looking at it like it's a hobby, there's a lot more expensive hobbies out there than playing guitar.
I've spent about $500 or $600 a year on games (and that's in a year when I would just go all out on buying new games) until WoW came out, which, on it's own, made up an additional $180 investment on its own. A bit of a high upkeep, making up about a fourth of my MAXIMUM spending habits on games. Rock Band is a lovely investment itself, but the issue with that is the fact that Rock Band doesn't require you consistently feed it money so you can have access to something you already paid for.
If Rock Band costed $300 to start with (just pulling a figure out of my ass since I can't remember how much it is anymore), then the amount of money it takes to have access to WoW would be over that in 2 years, which is how long my BROTHER will have been playing in February or March, which, I guarantee you, he will be. What's more, after that $300, if Rock Band continues at this trend, it will only cost $50 each year to continually play the sequels, unless a new add-on is put in. And furthermore, Rock Band and Guitar Hero games do have some applications to the real world seeing as they can be used to train musicians to some extent.
1 WoW account has proven to be a larger expense than ROCK BAND, as well as all the Guitar Hero games I own. The 1 guitar = $60 (I think, don't recall), 4 games = $200, 4 games = 4 years
Total expense of Guitar Hero over the past 4 years is $260, and that's if I paid the maximum for everything I own
Wow in 4 years = $720

I made a Draenei Paladin as well...
BTW I'm hearing Death Knights are way overpowered, can any WOTLK people confirm this?

Yes and No. They are extremely skill based. I rolled one to mess around with it and it was pretty complicated even for me. If you get used to the controls and know what you are doing yes. I saw a 68 dk slaughter a 73 warrior in a duel and it was pretty awe inspiring. Very interesting looking class indeed. I'm going to have loads of fun with my hunter vs them at 80.

Re: This is the WoW Gamer That Has No LIFE!!!
I'm not playing on ActiBlizzards servers. I play on a pretty popular private server called Toxic-WoW. It just went up to 3.0.3 today. No queue lines ftw!
Re: This is the WoW Gamer That Has No LIFE!!!
Tholo and I play on Earthen Ring, in the second biggest guild in the game: Alea Iacta Est.
I will say it is very easy to play a DK badly. That being said, they can be quite good if you've got the skill. And the G-G-G-G-G-GUTS!!
