Weezer, the Xbox version does have Live support
And Q, I mean for them to succeed, they need to make some games that I do like and that make me WANT to play the system. Mario Kart was looking like the game that would make me start playing my GC again to me, but now it's getting a bunch of lackluster reviews from the people that actually have the game (i.e. IGN, Lawrence.com), so it looks like I may have to wait even longer...

What's on the Live support? Is there online multiplayer modes or something? If it's something like downloadable desktop wallpapers, that's lame.
IGN I can respect, but I don't know about lawrence.com, they're not exacty the go to place on video game reviews. What about EGM's review? They gave it a 9.5, 10, and 10. At least rent it, or spend a decent amount of time with it before you judge. I mean c'mon don't tell you me you don't want to play Mario Kart Double Dash. I know you want to play it. I think everyone wants to play it.

Gamespot is the most pretentious bunch of fuck nuggets on the internet... I don't mind that their reviews are critical, but sometimes I think they intentionally low-score a game simply because they are expected to and that by keeping their bar raised too fucking high that they are somehow more knowledgeable and elitist gamers for it.
EGM's reviews are fairly decent, however, the rest of th magazine aggrevates me. They do have good features and such, but their in-depth coverage on some games is shoddy and I've caught them more times than necessary actually printing inaccurate or sometime outrageously WRONG info.
Frankly I almost rely solely on gamerankings.com to draw my conclusions (just try to ignore the reader review scores - oddly even the most perfect games on there only have about an 8 for some reason... even games that don't have any reader reviews LOL). Averaging out the internet media sites really puts things into perspective.
As for the Prince of Persia... superb game. Mechner should be proud that his legacy was reincarnated into something wholly respectable no matter how you look at it - game play, graphics, story (a little generic, but still noteworthy). My only complaint is that the voice-over dialog is awfully quite over my surround system and no manner of volume adjustment (in-game or via the receiver itself) has fixed this to my satisfaction. But that's okay, because I'm not an audiophile.
My problem is that I don't wanna get too far into it until I can wrap up LoK: Defiance (I'm only in it for the story, folks).

Hey, LCDXX, gamerankings.com is a great site! Thanks for the suggestion. It reminds me of rottentomatoes.com. I had never realized how much IGN and Gamespot reviews sucked, because, frankly, I never read them. But I'll tell you one thing, they are pretty good sites for gaming news. But, of course everyone already knows that. The only gaming magazines that I read are EGM and GMR. I used to read Gamepro when I was younger, but it started sucking. Same with Nintendo Power. Haven't read through and issue of Gamepro in forever (by the way, how are they these day?), but I've looked through a few recent issues of Nintendo Power, and they don't seem to be so bad anymore. I've heard bad things about GameInformer (that's the one you get from Game Stop right?), but have never read through an issue. I've read a few issues of Play, and it looks pretty good. There are so many gaming magazines available. Which ones does everyone here read?

In regards to gamespot reviews, I always give the game an extra .5 to 1.0 because they're pretty hard on games. Even really good games escape with high 8's or low 9's. One good thing about gamespot is that they're usually pretty good about pointing out the bad, as well as the good. Some only focus on the good. I tell you, EGM's review of ESPN NFL was just plain wrong. They didn't even try to like the game and based the review off of 1st person football instead of the straight up sim. One reviewer gave it a 7.0 or 7.5 if I'm not mistaken. There's no way ESPN NFL should ever rate that low!
As for PoP, I can't wait to pick it up this week and take it for a spin.
