EGM Sony Biased?

Midway’s Mortal Kombat development team, Sony’s sports game division, and Ubisoft have all allegedly banned EGM from further coverage of their products. The reason: Apparently, they didn’t take too kindly to EGM’s review coverage of their games. Still, Hsu maintains that EGM “won’t treat these products or companies any differently.

Every time I bring up Dan or the fact that EGM is unbiased someone says that they are making love with Sony in the back seat of their SonyMobile. Dan is really the man.

I'm really not sure where the EGM Sony bias came from...I never got that vibe when I had a subscription.

Neither did I. I think its the old thing about how if you are unbiased all the people that hate whatever system think you are a fanboy of that system.

I never read EGM so I dunno myself...I've only read Game Informer magazines since eh...they're free so why not?

They just seem really hateful and hypocritical in GI so eh...screw 'em. I just like the pictures.

Can a game company really ban a magazine from talking about there games? I could understand not sending them early review copies but to ban them outright, wouldnt that be illegal?

If game companies can do that, why do any of them ever allow any of their crappy games to be reviewed by anyone? They know it's gonna get a bad review.

The ONLY person who I ever heard say EGM was biased towards Sony was Q. Yeah Q. The man who likes to bring us news stories without sources.

His logic? Ziff used to make the OFFICIAL PLAYSTATION MAGAZINE. SO EGM is automatically Sony biased.

I've never once seen that in their mag, they've always been truthful and seem to agree with my opinions. Heck if anything, they're Xbox biased. Have you seen how many issues had Xboxes on the cover in 2007?

I don't think that's his reason as Ziff makes magazines for all different platforms. I think his had more to do with experience.

At least I hope that's not his reason.

I'm trying to remember who else told me this as there were a lot of people.
