Xbox Live Eating Achievements

He and a friend worked to get nearly all the co-op achievements and finally, after much hard work, earned the one for breaking 800,000 points on a song together. Needless to say, he was very proud of the achievement.

Imagine his distress when he checked his account and discovered that his crowning glory had been locked up again. He called customer support and after convincing them he wasn't playing Halo 3 (haha), they told him that Microsoft is currently rolling back parts of the Xbox Live servers to help iron out the recent bugs. This was affecting achievements, and if he got another one on Guitar Hero II, it should restore anything missing. Shame then, that the only achievements he has left are ones he can't manage. I don't even want to think what people who have unlocked everything in a game are expected to do.

Related to Xbox Live or not, I know firsthand that missing achievements are certainly a real occurrence. When I had managed to buy a console that got banned from Xbox Live, all of my Samurai Warriors achievements completely disappeared. Once I'd gotten a new machine and saved the game once, they all re-appeared in a mad achievement avalanche.

For a console that has a 100% failure rate, they could at the very least maintain their online system better... Right Break?

One reason I'm getting a PS3 this summer. If Microsoft isn't reliable enough to keep their internet service up, I could always get a PS3 and use their internet service.

Hell, I even hear that Microsoft declared defeat in the format war and simultaneously declared that they were going to jump on the blu-ray bandwagon too, POSSIBLY with an add-on (Maybe that's what this Xbox Ultimate is about?) ...oh my, and if Microsoft tries to fuck us with Blu Ray by making games for it, then that means we'd have to buy a new console...

AH SHIT!

Hopefully Blu-Ray is implemented in a way as not to fuck over the consumer. I really love the format and would like for it to catch on with the public now that is has defeated HD-DVD.

Neither is godly to me. Movies look fine in DVD for me. Besides, I don't buy DVDs, nor do a lot of people. I can easily get HD movies for free from my cable provider that look fine.

You haven't been to Lindsborg...
I'm still living in a community of denial that thinks HD-DVDs are more popular than Blu-Ray.

It's just...fantastic...

Man, if Microsoft don't get their shit together, I'm going to be more than a little pissed. I'm sick of not being able to play Xbox Live because they're too damn lazy to upgrade their shit.

I KNOW they have the money to do it, I KNOW it takes more than a wek to upgrade servers, but godamn, it's been two and a half weeks now and they haven't done a damn thing to get them back online.
