Xbox Live Is Down For The Time Being

Post by Typheus »

XLIDFTTB

JUST to clear up anything. I recently got Orange Box as I'm sure you know when I bragged about it to ya, and I played Team Fortress online and found its online to suck ass. The matches rarely loaded up, the game disconnected for no reason, etc etc etc.

Well, I recently found out that its online system actually kicked ass. The only problem was the fact that Xbox Live ITSELF was going screwy.

Now, this has been attributed to multiple things, but a lot of people agree that it's the holiday rush that put it over the edge. Ever since the 25th, it's been asinine. Some say it SHOULD be resolved shortly after the New Years.

So, this is for anyone here who might think that their game is sucking in terms of online quality like I did.

So, Live is acting like an Xbox?

That's really too bad as Live is a great service.

Very. I was starting to wonder why so many hosts left the game if they were WINNING.

Uhh actually Team Fortress 2 lags to hell no matter what the status of Xbox Live is. It's been lagging since it came out. The patches they put out to fix it didnt help either. Your best bet is hosting your own matches or getting the PC version.

Do some research! :D

I added the explanation at the end. Makes it sounds less dicky. Sorry.

Yeah, cause the way you left it made you sound like a total asshole.

No offense, just watch how you leave things hanging ^.^

I will say that I think this whole Xbox Live thing is at least affecting it somewhat because people are saying that their online games in general are fucking up.

I mean, if Team Fortress 2 lagged like hell before, and now this thing rolled around, then the lag would make the game unplayable.

So either it's not affecting it at all, or it's affecting it and the game without the XBL fuck up isn't so bad.

All of that aside, this isn't good for anyone who plays on XBL in general. Microsoft needs to get their shit together because, last I checked, XBL was a major thing that they could hold over Sony's head in terms of online support, content, and reliability. This recent screw up is throwing all of that away if it isn't resolved soon.

Actually, XBL is having problems.
Microsoft's Larry Hryb wrote: You may have noticed that the LIVE service has been having a few issues over the past few days. This includes things like signing in, matchmaking and account recovery. Not everyone has had problems, but I know some of you have and I wanted to give you and update. While the service was never completely offline, problems like this are not acceptable. The entire LIVE team has been working day and night to ensure that you can have a great LIVE experience. While we're not done yet, I wanted to let you know that things are getting better each hour and that no one on the team is going anywhere until the job is done. Thanks for your patience.

Yeah, XBL has been having problems since like Christmas eve or the 23rd. All them kiddies opening up their Halo 3s early and flooding the XBL pipes!

And causing eardrums to explode all at the same time.

It's kind of hard I may have been like that at one point, but I don't remember a single time when someone told me "shut up, kid."

Yeah, I usually mute people now. Voice communication is really only an irritation now.
