I bought MxPx's new album yesterday, and I have to say one thing.
OMGWTFBBQ!!
It's a good CD, but it's not MxPx. It's POP. It sounds more like Blink 182 or Good Charlotte than the MxPx I know. Some of the songs are close to what they used to sound like, but even then, the vocals are processed with a stereo chorus filter to sound like Blink's vocals. Like I said, it's a good CD, but it's obvious that A&M Records had the band by the balls on this CD. I'm more than a little disgusted.

Everything Before and After
I think I've pretty much lost interest in pop-punk as a whole. That's not to say that I don't like MxPx or anything, but I just really don't care for it as much as I used to. I guess after listening to so much pop-punk, I started to crave for something different. So, right now I just listen to whatever, mostly indie type stuff, but really I'm alot more open minded these days when it comes to music. Because, back when I was really into pop-punk, that was pretty much the only thing I listened to. So it's been like over a month since the new MxPx album came out and I still don't own it. I used to be a huge MxPx fan and I own all thier previous ablums except Pokinatcha. But my priorities have changed. MxPx is good pop-punk, but if you want to hear great pop-punk, check out a band called The Exploding Hearts. And when I say pop-punk, I do mean pop and I do mean punk. I don't know exactly what that means, but check them out. They only have one album and will never have anymore because about 3 months ago, 3 of the members died in a car crash. Such a shame. They were even in talks with Lookout Records about a possible record deal.
