Here me out people. My budget is pretty strapped these days, but boy are there so many games I'd like to have right now or soon. Topspin, I'm getting that no matter what, but I also have to renew my Xbox Live in November to truly enjoy Topspin. That's a hundred bucks right there. Viewtiful Joe is calling my name in all it's 2D glory, I really want that game. Crimson skies looks great. The GTA double pack, finally on Xbox, I gotta have it. ESPN NBA looks to finally capture the true essence of basketball after all these years, I'd like to have it. Tiger Woods 2004 online, on PS2 mind you, I've always wanted golf online and hotshots hasn't done it yet, so tiger seems the way to go. Just so many games I'd like to have right now, it makes my head spin, but I'll be lucky to squeez out Topspin and a new Live subscription. Really, that's all I can afford since I have to save for my baby on the way in December. Once that comes, I'll dissappear from the gaming scene for a few months.
So, I'm just enjoying the time I have before my life changes. I'll always be a gamer, I'm just coming to terms with the sacrifices I have to make in the near future.

Gaming dilemmas!
I'll be damned if I ever get beat by a button masher!!!
I feel your pain, brother. I'm in much the same situation right now, and boy does it blow. I'm actually planning on writing up a little article of do's and don'ts for gamers strapped for cash, based on my experiences thus far. There's just sooo many good games coming out soon and combined with the PC I'm purchasing, my poor bank account is gonna be pretty lonely the next few months. Damn, why couldn't I have been a more hardcore gamer when I was getting paid by the school and had free room and board??

Dang, do's and don'ts of the poor gamer, that would be an interesting read.
As for the baby, he or she will be a gamer as well. I'm keeping my old systems to start them off on. NES, then Genesis, on to NES, some PS1 games on the PS2, then the DC, then on to PS2/Xbox/GC, and then the next generation. Sorry, I don't have my N64 or Atari 2600 anymore. We'll see how it goes. Our child will also be an athlete, among other things. Ah, we'll see.
I thought I'd use a video game name, but I'd still have to clear it with the wife.

The people on that Hooligans board I was telling you guys about, they did a "name my baby" thread. They came up with all kinds of vg and non vg names. Link and Zelda did not come up, I'll add them to the list.
Oh yeah, we set up a "win a free game" monthly contest where everyone who's interested donates at least $3 for a free game contest. The contest was my idea. Anyway, after ironing out the details forever, we finally got it started in September and at the end of the month we had the first drawing. Fittingly, I won the first contest, with $52 to spend, minus 5 for shipping of course.
