Nananananananana Spiderman! Spiderman!
Nananananananana Spiderman! Spiderman!
Hokay peoples, Spider-Man 3 is this weekend. Are the Lawrence-ites gonna get together for this one? I'm available for any shows after 5:30.
I would love to come to Lawrence just watch wit you guys, but unfortunately my mom thinks that 2 and half hours worth of gas (in a Hybrid) is a waste to get me there just to see Spider-man 3 which is 15 miles due north of here on the same day. Either way, if I seriously considered coming to Lawrence I'd literally have to leave the second school ended just to make it by 6:00, and I'm sorry, but Spider-man and you guys just aren't important enough in my life to waste away over 7 hours of my life (5 hours there & back, 2 hours at the movie).
I live inside a body with practicality in mind. Either way, I'm hoping to hit the movie up at 4:00 or 7:00 in the Central Mall Cinema 10 (Yeah, they added 2 theaters in place of the old arcade at the mall in Salnia sometime in the year 2006, just so you know Break and Richie, no one likes those new theaters...plus they're harder to sneak into). I don't care if I have to fucking walk and go into the theater by myself though, I'm seeing that fucking movie.

Well, after seeing the movie I have to say that it was fairly good. I'm a little disappointed at the virtual invisbility of the symbiote in the movie though, and just how rushed everything felt, though that mostly came at the end of the movie where they crammed way too much shit into it.
Come on though, how much footage was shown of Venom? You could probably watch the commercial for Venom and see all the footage of him from the movie instead of just going to the movie. That was just a pathetic stunt...advertising him as one of the frickin' headlines and then making him last such a short time on screen.
Anyway, I'm not so disappointed with Venom as I am with "Evil" Parker. Just not enough footage of him being a dickhead and not enough fights with him. There was plenty of footage of him looking like an idiot though, but that was just Parker in general...And that's before his little stroll down the street. Oh well, ultimately I have to say that the movie was worth seeing, and the primary fight halfway through the movie with the Sandman was pretty good (in the subway), but they tried to do too much, especially with how much they delayed the fucking symbiote suit.

I like the Emo Peter, so stfu.Vamp wrote:Just got back from seeing it, and it's left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. The big things are:
1) Emo Peter... just WTF?
2) Felt way, way too long for the simple storyline given.
3) Far too many cheeseball gags.
Also if anything it was too short for the storlyine given. As far as the cheeseballing goes...well, no argument.
I liked this movie, although Peter's little walk was somewhat cringesome and made me think 'this is what happens when good nerds go bad'.
The emo hair was better than his normal style, and his being mean was interesting, but I would agree that this could have used more build-up than it could be given in one movie. I think ultimately they tried to pack too much in to the time they had. Having said that, it was fun and it made me laugh and was generally an exciting experience. Venom is a thrilling character and I hope that I'm right in thinking they left a deliberate opening for bringing him back in some form in a later sequel.
I would recommend seeing it, just don't expect it to be as involved as the comics - think more along the lines of the cartoons.

They did leave a loophole. Dr. Connors still has the symbiote specimen that Peter gave him. I'm imagining that Peter forgets about it and ultimately the symbiote, seeing as it's still part of the rest symbiote, still had a bond with Brock as well thus leading to room for it to regenerate itself and Brock.dirtyprettythings wrote:I liked this movie, although Peter's little walk was somewhat cringesome and made me think 'this is what happens when good nerds go bad'.

Also, I think the walk was there just to show that Peter didn't get a shit what anyone thought of him. Overall though, I'm disappointed with how they did Bad Parker. I mean come on...They did it so well, but there was so little... I went in there expecting him to get the black suit at the beginning after an exhausting fight with the Sandman early in the beginning, but no...they wait until frickin' 70% of the way into the damn movie.
