Game sighting in a movie? Saw something on the screen other than a game? Weird, let us know.

Anyone going to go see it? I know I am.

According to reviews this movie is the ultimate in pretension. The people that made this apparently wanted to make a statement saying that they are very serious and that you should take this movie very seriously. I'm studying a lot of historical stuff on this time period this semester, so it will be interesting to see just how such a pretentious "look at us" take will go.

Moving beyond the critical analysis, however, this movie looks to be extremely fun; especially if you like comics or video games. It will most definitely rock.

I want to go see it, but unfortunately, I have a hard time seeing movies in theaters...Hell, I have a hard time seeing movies period. My parents rarely go out to theaters or rent movies. I suppose rentals I could take care of because that's only across town (and this IS Lindsborg after all, that's like what? 3 steps and you're there?), but going down the highway is a long ass walk. This wouldn't be a problem had my parents not sold my car...with a promise of getting me a new one (the promise kept moving further into the future, month by month, until now, when they say they never made the promise...).

Anyway, I've always been intrigued by this battle, seeing as it's fucking amazing that anyone was capable of doing anything remotely close to what they the Spartans did. As a result, I'm a little pissed that I probably won't get to see it. I really dunno about the movie's historical value though, seeing as you can look into the commercials and clearly see that there's things that stretch the truth.

Im not expecting to much historical accuracy, but it will be interesting to see the small amount that's there.

I heard something about it being called "The best movie of the decade".

So yeah, I might see it. :P

I personally think that Zoom is the best movie of the decade.

From what I've read, its big achievement is making the movie look like a video game. It has a 60% on rottentomatoes.com (which compiles many reviews together) which is good but not quite the 86% of Zodiac.

Then again, who cares what the critics say. I can't wait to see it.

Critics suck. They're right only 3% of the time (fyi everyone, that IS a made up statistic).

Eh...I don't agree with the idea of Zodiac. I wouldn't really be afraid or curious in the movie since I'm not afraid of the Zodiac killer, nor am I curious seeing as I've seen police sketches of him. Pretty much the only thing missing is a name and address. The only interesting part of him is his encryptions.

Anyway, it turns out I MIGHT get to see 300 with some friends, but I won't get my hopes up.

EDIT: Turns out that I am going. I'll be heading out to Salina for the mall in 15 minutes. I'll be sure that my opinions of the movie are made known when I get back.

EDIT: Well, I felt ripped off when I had to go see Ghost Rider instead of 300 seeing as no one old enough to admit any of us managed to get there with us. Originally we were going to go with someone old enough, but the bastard never showed.

I'm more interested in Zodiac because of the director, David Fincher, than the story.

300 looks like a FUN movie, and that's enough to make it worth seeing (any excuse to go to the movies and, if you're lucky, take someone cute that you can make out with if the movie sucks). Historical accuracy is seldom a motivating factor in scripting, but that doesn't mean it won't seriously rock as a sword-bashing, weird-creature-fest of sweating men with big swords (what more could you want?).

Zodiac might be interesting, Fincher usually comes up with the goods, and murder investigations are almost always at least vaguely compelling.

I'm more excited for Amazing Grace and Spiderman 3.

Just got out of seeing it in Imax. Amazing movie. I loved it and recommend it, especially those of you with an Imax theater near by. It rocked my socks.
