I don't. I missed out on the NES/SNES/Genesis/Turbografx 16? (what?) eras. Almost entirely, but I did get a dab here and there in those areas. My most vivid memory of those games still lies in Star Fox on the SNES...Man, I want that on the VC now...BreakmanX wrote:Man you must really hate the virtual console.weezerjedi wrote:Plus, I'm a traditionalist, I like playing things in their original format, on the original console, with the original controller.

Paying $5 for a 20 year old game + $8 for a 15 year old game + $10 for a 10 year old game = fuck that shit.
Anything that can be played on the virtual console and then some I can play for free on my TV with a transfinite selection of games, the ability to actually map good controls, and even with better graphical smoothing techniques like 2-Sai on my Xbox.
Not to mention I can play any of them except N64 (well I can, but they're too slow and buggy) on the go for free on my PSP.

I will concede that playing games on their original console is the best experience.weezerjedi wrote:But I love my NES and its RF output! Fuzzy images and blowing into cartridges is all part of the old school NES experience.
But yes, NES VC games do look nice on progressive scan.
But, the VC is by far the second best option in my opinion (negating price of course.) The games just feel better than any emulator I've tried... I know you disagree with me Vamp, and that is fine..
The price is a little irksome for me, though. I do feel like they are a little too expensive. Since the games are released regularly and limited, I think they should do a monthly payment system. Pay a certain amount for time. That way people would still have to pay later when games they liked came out on VC. There could be a option for just one day or one hour or something for that instance. There are so many Virtual console games I want to play, but I don't because of the price. I've only bought Super Mario Bros, Bonk's Adventure, and Gunstar Heroes.
Time does not make an amazing game into a bad game Vamp. Maybe some day you too, will understand this. ALttP is 1 of the best ways to spend $8...Kid Icarus is 1 of the best ways to spend $5...Bomberman '93 is 1 of the best ways to spend $6...MK64 or SM64 are fantastic ways to spend $10.Vamp wrote:Paying $5 for a 20 year old game + $8 for a 15 year old game + $10 for a 10 year old game = fuck that shit.

So yeah...Vamp....Screw you and you lack of quality knowledge as well as your bootleg versions of games. If everyone were like you, then games would've ended in production long ago when no companies were making any money and you wouldn't have that PSP in your hands in the 1st place because of that.
