C&C Generals

I bought the game yesterday...and I already hate it. Graphically, it looks fine with my GeForce 4, but the game itself sucks. It is in no way different to the other C&C games except for the made the toolbar look more like starcraft/warcraft. Wow, nice move. Red Alert 2 wasnt that great, but it still was better and had a more user friendly interface. For example, you click a unit to attack and it talkes like 2 minutes there as opposed to warcraft where it would take 10 seconds. Plus, the tanjks are slower than the infantry...wtf? I'm taking it back after the show on Saturday. You will definately hear this rant on Saturday. I will ask break to post a b4 and after pic and me when I get generals...and then when i found out it sucked. If anyone disagrees with me, I want to hear it...if someone could convince me to keep it I would be happy to because I really has high hopes for this game.

I haven't played the game, so I can't comment. Good luck taking it back for a refund or exchange, you'll need it. If you've opened it, most places wont do a return, except for exchange for the same title. I look forward to hear a more in depth review on the show.

well...i have connections. if i lie and say it "doesnt work" on my PC, they will take it back. I am their biggest customer...not letting me return it means business slowdown for them. Plus, im going to get another game for the same price...SimCity 4 perhaps.

Make yourself a back-uÞ copy before you return it, that way if you decide later that you want to play it, then you dont have to re-buy it. SimCity 4 is pretty good.. Ive only played through the tutorial missions so far, but I am enjoying it, and the visuals are gorgious. Also, the game doesnt yet support multiplayer, we have to wait for a patch from Maxis. If you're planning on by a Startegy/sim game in the near future though, I would reccomend you wait for MOO3

I got C&C Generals and there is only one part of it I was disapointed in was the story. It was completely lacking any meaningful reason to finish the campaigns. I think this is probably the result of EA games buying out Westwood.

And just to put this in, Generals may be similar to the other games in the series, but if you want to make that claim then WarCraft 3 is the exact same thing as WarCraft 2, just with a face lift.
