I didn't realize that the ps3 menu was going to look like a buffed up PSP menu. A bit dissapointed actually. For the money and the hype I would have liked to have seen something a little more original, even on the menus. Ah well, just thought I would post this vid up.

Sony's trying to turn the XMB interface into the standard for all their consumer electronics. DVD players, game consoles, TVs, everything. I rather like it. It's simple, easy to navigate, is more then functional.Atticus wrote:I didn't realize that the ps3 menu was going to look like a buffed up PSP menu. A bit dissapointed actually. Being biased as to what I've played, I'll state the following.
I really like the dashboard on the 360. It took me a while, but now I really think it's set up well, and yeah, a lot better after the update.
The PSP menu is pretty good for a handheld, but I just don't know how well it'll work out on a bigger console. I see it as a "beefed up" version of the psp. I only wish they could have gotten a little more original. But I guess we are talking about Sony, and truthfully, they aren't so great at the whole "new idea" thing.
Just read that Gamespot gave Call Of Duty 3 for the ps3 an 8.2 after giving the 360 an 8.8. After reading the review in full, it seems that the ps3 version has framerate issues throughout the game that isn't in the 360 version, and the online is just 1 player per console, 16 per match. Where as the 360's version is 4 per console, 24 per match.
Just reporting the first review I've seen for one of the launch titles. NOT FLAMING. I just would hate to have stood in line for 2 weeks to get Call Of Duty 3 as one of my launch choices to find out that it runs better on the 360. That is all.
I WAS NOT FLAMING NO MATTER WHAT VERENCE SAYS, .

Yeah, Cell's apparently complex to program for, mostly because of the multiprocessing aspects of it. Until devs get a better hang on this (2nd gen games) expect problems.
And for the record, I rather like 360's navigation system (I'm using it as a skin for XBMC), but I like XMB more because of it is simple yet elegant and funcitonal.
